Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 134/9 runs in their 20 overs. A moderate score from the SRH and the Capitals will back themselves to chase it down. They floundered at the start, losing Warner for a three-ball duck and never really recovered. Saha looked good, but didn’t last for long. Williamson was scratchy during his stay in the middle, dropped twice and then holing out. Manish Pandey couldn’t make his start count, so did Jason Holder. Abdul Samad shone briefly and it was his 21-ball 28 which has given his team a total to defend, So was Rashid with his breezy cameo. Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada were excellent, so was Avesh and the spinners, although Marcus Stoinis’ injury could be a matter for concern and 134 isn’t a big score but if there’s one team that can defend, it’s the SRH. Abdul Samad scored 28 of 21 balls and Rashid Khan scored 22 of 19 balls. For DC Kagiso Rabada pick 3 wickets for 37 runs in his 4 overs.

Delhi Capitals successfully chased down the target by scoring in 129/2 in 17.5 overs and won the game by 8 wickets and reach at the top spot of the points table. The surging Capitals have redefined the pinnacle, and the luckless, hapless SRH have redefined rockbottom. After the loss of Shaw in the chase, Dhawan set things up stably, before Pant and Iyer pragmatically played out Rashid to cut loose at the backend of the innings, seeing the Capitals home comfortably with 13 balls to spare. They’ve managed to do it against one of the more fancied bowling attacks in the tournament which should give them a lot of confidence, and the fact that the young guns are coming of age and finishing games makes it hard to nitpick their performance.
