Punjab Kings scored 221/6 in their 20 overs. Big score here for PBKS, will have to wait and see if it is big enough because RR have beaten Kings last year when they were chasing mammoth 226 at Sharjah. Deepak Hooda certainly made the most of it after being promoted up the order. He came in at four ahead of Pooran and the move worked wonders as he took the innings to a different level with a blistering 64 off 28 balls. KL Rahul‘s innings, where he scored 91 off 50 balls, almost felt sedate in comparison. 13 sixes already on the night. But none of those came off Chetan Sakariya who had a superb outing on debut. KL Rahul scored 91 of 50 balls and Deepak Hooda scored 64 of 28 balls. For RR Chetan Sakariya picks 3 wickets for 31 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Rajasthan Royals unable to chase the target and lost the game of last ball of the match by just 4 runs as they scored 217/7 in 20 overs. A double-Nelson to chase, Ben effing Stokes back in the hut, and one might have expected a meek surrender but it was a captain Samson on debut, who held his own, aided by some more than useful cameos around him, to get it deep into the final over when some questionable decisions were made by him. Nevertheless, every bowler got some stick from this man, who eventually perished off the final ball, a few meters short of the glory – and a few millimeters short of the sweet spot that could’ve made this night a dream. Nevertheless, despite the dropped catches, and one two near collisions, a performance like Arshdeep‘s deserved the reward that it got. Sanju Samson scored 119 runs 63 balls and Riyan Parag scored 25 in 11 balls. For PBKR Arshdeep Singh picks 3 wickets for 35 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : Congratulations to PBKS for beginning this season with a win. Name changed worked for them as they won this thrilling game by last ball. Batting from team is superb as always as they post a mammoth total but bowling is still a concern for them as both Australian players who was bought by hefty amount conceded more than 100 runs in their combine spell so they need to look at their bowling combinations.
For RR bowling was not as per the mark as they conceded so many runs in their middle overs. Their debutant fast bowler Chetan Sakariya was very impressive. So first they need to work on their bowling because they have very good battling line up. Skipper Sanju Samson was superb and scored a century in his debut game as captain. Incredible inning by him as he almost finished this game but fall 4 runs short.
