Dream11 IPL Match 42: KKR beat DC by 59 runs and takes firm command in the race for the fourth spot. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

42nd Game (Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Delhi Capitals)
Game Date: 24th Oct 2020
Details:
Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to field first in the 42nd game of IPL 2020. DC included Anrich Nortjé, Kagiso Rabada, Shimron Hetmyer and Marcus Stoinis as four foreign players for this game. Two changes in playing XI as they have included Ajinkya Rahane and Anrich Nortje in place of Prithvi Shaw and Daniel Sams.

Four foreign players of KKR for this game was Sunil Narine, Pat Cummins, Lockie Ferguson and Eoin Morgan. Two changes in playing XI and they have included Sunil Narine and Kamlesh Nagarkoti in place of Tom Banton and Kuldeep Yadav.

Kolkata Knight Riders scores 194/6 in their 20 overs which is 2nd highest score of this season on this ground. Explosive batting in the middle overs by Narine and Rana have been a revelation today. They picked on anything loose and powered their way in the middle overs. When DK went back, it looked like KKR will collapse again but it wasn’t the case. From 42/3 to 194 is a tall score indeed. 115 runs in less than 10 overs between Narine and Rana might just prove to be the difference. Was a good gesture from Rana who gave a tribute to his father-in-law after reaching his fifty. Nitish Rana scored 81 of 53 balls and Sunil Narine scored 64 of 32 balls. For DC Nortje and Stoinis picks 2 wickets each.

Delhi Capitals chase was very poor and lost the first wicket in first ball and big wicket of Dhawan in 3rd over by Cummins. He was brilliant with the new ball again today, eventually managing to double his wicket-tally for the season. There’s Ferguson after the powerplay. And then comes Varun Chakravarthy, who was saved up for the back half and just bamboozled Delhi to emerge with the first five-wicket haul of the season. Narine wasn’t as effective with the ball on his return, but his contribution with the bat earlier was what paved the way for a stunning counter-attack. Shreyas Iyer scored 47 runs 38 balls and Rishabh Pant scored 27 in 33 balls. For KKR Varun Chakravarthy picks 5 wickets for 20 runs in his 4 overs.

KKR: 194/6 in 20 overs
DC: 135/9 in 20 overs

Result: Kolkata Knight Riders won by 59 runs
Man of the Match: Varun Chakravarthy

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : Congratulations to KKR for their great bounce back after their abject surrender against RCB. Hats off to Varun Chakravarthy for his sensation and best bowling in the IPL and special mention to their other bowlers who ensured his dream start wasn’t wasted. They have restricted opponent team in the chase. It’s all start with brilliant batting in middle overs by Narine and Rana as at one time they were 42/3 in 8th over and then 194/6 is really commendable. they have cemented their 4th position and good chance for them to qualify the playoffs just they need to carry the momentum.

Delhi Capitals have lost their second game on the bounce. And they still have MI and RCB to come. Definite problems to address in that batting department. Their batting machinery has creaked and groaned from last 2 games, before going completely kaput today against some spin and fast bowling. And this comes at a very tricky time in the tournament, where they can’t really make any drastic changes. Rishabh Pant is not in good form after his comeback. They really need to work in their batting because just 3 games left before the play-offs and performance need to be improved after mediocre outing in last 2 games.
