Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie in my free time as trailer looks good in parts only and it has very good star-cast.

A murder at a posh club in Delhi pins the needle of suspicion on its affluent guests. As the police start probing deeper, they realize it’s a maze full of greed, vanity and complex human relationships.

Murder Mubarak movie is based on Anuja Chauhan’s book, Club You To Death. Story and screenplay are fairly interesting but there are portions in which the drama gets confusing and sometimes, boring too. Some scenes appear unconvincing. The light moments do serve as a welcome relief to ease the tension of the murder investigations. The duo’s dialogues are good. Pankaj Tripathi, Vijay Varma and Sara Ali Khan shines among all. None of the other actors has a substantial role to play. Why were Karisma Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia even there? They barely had scenes. Tisca Chopra and Sanjay Kapoor at least had some substantial dialogues, but honestly why were they even there? Suhail Nayyar, Tara Alisha Berry, Aashim Gulati seem to have just been drawn by the fact that they were going to be part of an A-List film. A couple of unsung heroes were Deven Bhojani and Brijendra Kala. Even playing smaller characters, they managed to hook you on. Both their facial expressions, body languages and reactions to the happenings made you feel like they were pretty much the only ones who were in their characters throughout rather than being the same person you’re in real life on screen. Shows the power of great acting which can even do wonders in a two-scene character.

There are no standout songs from Sachin–Jigar that could have made the film more memorable. Also, a bit was missed by the background score in order to create the necessary eerie feel that’s needed for a murder mystery. There is barely any suspense created, which is needed, even if it’s a different sort of a murder mystery. Nowhere did it feel like starting to have a chilling effect. It was really sad. The film seems too long even though the runtime is just 141 minutes. A few motives of the suspects are not convincing. Also, after an impressive beginning, the narrative goes downhill. Some of the developments are unexciting. Overall, movie rests on the performances and unpredictable climax. But the slow narrative and unexciting moments hamper the impact of this film. Everything about the film feels so gimmicky that you lose your interest through the investigation. The number of characters in Murder Mubarak are unnecessarily many and it adds to the fatigue. My view on this movie Not Recommended.
