Ishq-e-Nadaan Movie Rating: 2.5 Stars

Just watched Ishq-e-Nadaan movie on Jio Cinema. Let’s focus on the complete details, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.

Cast: Mohit Raina, Lara Dutta, Kanwaljit Singh, Neena Gupta, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Suhail Nayyar and Mrinal Dutt
Director: Avishek Ghosh
Release Date: 14th July 2023 on Jio Cinema

Story: It is a heart-warming anthology set in Mumbai, with three interconnected stories about companionship, unexpected connections, and the strength of love beyond generations. The first story follows Charulata (Neena Gupta) and Subhash (Kanwaljit Singh) who are senior citizens and meet by chance and find solace in each other’s company. As they develop a fondness for one another, they seek a revitalized sense of purpose in their lives. While their story follows a predictable trope, their performances add depth to their characters.

The second follows Siya (Shriya Pilgaonkar) who is an ambitious single pregnant woman and Piyush (Suhail Nayyar) who is a compassionate individual, who unexpectedly cross paths and become sources of support for each other. Their connection transcends the challenges they face individually, demonstrating the resilience of human bonds. The storyline avoids solely revolving around pregnancy, offering a mature perspective on their relationship.

The final one is about Romona (Lara Dutta Bhupathi) who is a successful middle-aged independent woman, who forms a connection with Ashutosh (Mohit Raina) who is the hotel manager in which she stays. Their story stands out as the narrative blend’s emotions and drama, leaving viewers surprised by the outcome. The performances by both actors reflect maturity and depth, making their storyline captivating.

3. Climax
4. Music

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie on premiere day as it is bases on the real-life story of Tarla Dalal.

Ashutosh’s life changes when he meets Ramona at the hotel, which is his workplace. On the other hand, Charulata grows friends with Subhash Kapoor, a filmmaker, and shares a secret with him. What is the secret?

Ishq-E-Nadaan is an anthology which story is predictable yet heartwarming. Screenplay pace is well-balanced, allowing the narrative to unfold naturally while keeping the viewers engaged throughout. Ghosh’s directorial choices, combined with the beautiful cinematography, create a visually pleasing experience that captures the essence of the characters’ emotional journeys. It delves into the complexities of human emotions and portrays the transformative power of genuine connections. Nigam’s writing creates moments of warmth, laughter, and introspection, making the film resonate long after the credits roll. A heartwarming film that reminds us of the importance of love, friendship, and finding one’s purpose in life. It tugs at the heartstrings, leaving audiences touched by the genuine and poignant performances. The film’s message lingers, urging viewers to cherish and nurture the meaningful relationships in their own lives.

On the flipside, screenplay of this film is very slow and for a good love story music need to be good but here no songs will be remembered by anyone after the movie. Another major drawback was climax as it seems to be in hurry as director could have shown the Mohit Raina connection with Neena Gupta of their Rome visit. Overall, movie is for those seeking a touching and emotionally satisfying cinematic experience. With its stellar cast, impeccable direction and powerful storytelling, this film is a testament to the transformative power of love and friendship. Although the film’s slow pace and lack of further exploration may have hampered its connection with viewers, the general charm and pleasant nature of the stories made for an enjoyable experience. My view on this movie Time Pass with your loved ones.
