KKR won by 10 runs against SRH-cricketmovie.com

Vivo IPL Match 3: KKR beat SRH by 10 runs in 3rd game of IPL 2021. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

3rd Game (Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Sunrisers Hyderabad)
Game Date: 11th April 2021
Details:
Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner won the toss and elected to field first in the 3rd game of IPL 2021. SRH included David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi as four foreign players for this game.

Four foreign players of KKR for this game was Eoin Morgan, Andre Russell, Pat Cummins and Shakib Al Hasan.

Kolkata Knight Rider scored 187/6 in their 20 overs. 187 might look a lot, but SRH would be quite happy with how they pulled this back. With Rana and Tripathi going strong at the 15th over stage and with the firepower that Russell, Karthik and Morgan promised, 200 clearly looked within reach. And it came down to a situation where 187 was courtesy a 16-run final over. That’s how nicely Rashid Khan, Nabi and Natarajan have pulled this back for Hyderabad. It’s a really good surface this, the dew is bound to make it tough, but there is something in it for the spinners in terms of grip. Nitish Rana scored 80 of 56 balls and Rahul Tripathi scored 53 of 29 balls. For SRH Nabi and Rashid Khan picks 2 wickets each.

Sunrisers Hyderabad unable to chase the target and score only 177/5 in their 20 overs and lost the game by 10 runs. That was some class death bowling from Dre Russ as he foiled the prospects of a last-over heist. But SRH left themselves with too much to do towards the end. Probably the target was too high on this pitch to begin with. But the efforts of Jonny Bairstow and Manish Pandey saw them make a good fist of it. Their partnership led an excellent recovery after losing a couple of quick wickets and kept them in the game. But the wicket of Bairstow from Cummins was the defining moment that turned the balance decisively towards KKR. Manish Pandey scored 61* runs 44 balls and Jonny Bairstow scored 55 in 40 balls. For KKR Prasidh Krishna picks 2 wickets for 35 runs in his 4 overs quota.

KKR: 187/6 in 20 overs
SRH: 177/5 in 20 overs

Result: Kolkaya Knight Riders won by 10 runs.
Man of the Match: Nitish Rana

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : Congratulations to KKR for beginning this season with a win. A perfect start for Kolkata Knight Riders as they were clinical with both bat and bowl. Batsmen score good total in the first innings despite losing wickets in death overs and bowlers successfully defended the target.

For SRH bowling in death overs was excellent but they conceded so many runs in middle overs which cost the game. Their main bowler Bhuvi given away flurry of runs in his last 2 overs which happens rarely. Openers got out in power plays and with such big target Hyderabad needed a good start which they didn’t get unfortunately.
