Vivo IPL Match 25: DC beat KKR by 7 wickets at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

25th Game (Delhi Capitals Vs Kolkata Knight Riders)
Game Date: 29th April 2021
Details:
Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to field first in the 25th game of IPL 2021 against Kolkata Knight Riders. One change in KKR playing XI as they have included Lalit Yadav in the place of Amit Mishra has shoulder trouble. Their 4 foreign players for the game are Marcus Stoinis, Steven Smith, Kagiso Rabada and Shimron Hetmyer.

No change in RR playing XI. Their four foreign players of this game are Eoin Morgan, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Pat Cummins.

Kolkata Knight Riders scored 154/6 runs their 20 overs. That finish has pushed KKR past the 150-run mark which is strictly respectable but not par by any means. Once again, their planning in the batting department has been off-radar and they’ve underachieved. They had a steady platform at one stage with the score reading 69/1 in the 10th over but all that was wasted within the space of a few overs. The mini-collapse crippled the Knight Riders and if not for Russell‘s late blitz, they would have been embarrassed. 42 came off the last three overs but DC were otherwise mostly on point with their bowling tactics and field placements. They would have loved to finish a bit better but you’d think that Pant would have taken 154 at the toss even with the slight stickiness in the deck. Certainly advantage DC at the halfway mark. Andre Russell scored 45* of 27 balls and Shubman Gill scored 43 of 38 balls. For DC Lalit Yadav and Axar pick 2 wickets each.

Delhi Capitals chased down the target by scoring 156/3 in 16.3 overs and won the game by 7 wickets. We saw the best of Prithvi Shaw at the IPL today. And it was a knock to remember, with those six boundaries in the first over very indicative of what was to come. He just blew KKR away with some really attractive strokeplay, punishing both pace and spin alike. KKR’s tactics were questionable. Hardly a short ball to Shaw in the powerplay, or even Dhawan for that matter, despite having the pace in their ranks to rattle the batsmen. Pat Cummins was held back for way too long, and the game was as good as done when he came in for the sixth over, because the total they were defending was not enough here to begin with. Prithvi Shaw scored 82 of 41 balls and Shikhar Dhawan scored 46 of 47 balls. For KKR Pat Cummins picks 3 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs quota.
