Vivo IPL Match 2: DD beat CSK by 7 wickets in 2nd game of IPL 2021. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

2nd Game (Delhi Capitals Vs Chennai Super Kings)
Game Date: 10th April 2021
Details:
Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to field first in the 2nd game of IPL 2021. DC included Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Chris Woakes and Tom Curran as four foreign players for this game.

Four foreign players of CSK for this game was Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran and Dwayne Bravo.

Chennai Super Kings scored 188/7 in their 20 overs. CSK like previous season lost their openers too early with the sluggish run-rate making matters worse. Today however, they had their trump card Suresh Raina, who was the missing cog in last year’s event, and his return in yellow filled a gaping hole in the CSK line-up. A 36-ball 54 later bring them in game but back to back wickets keep their run rate down but Jadeja and Sam Curran (who took a special liking to his elder brother’s medium pace), ensured that the Super Kings had momentum at the end, crashing 33 runs in the last 2 overs to lift them to 188. Medium pace, as expected, took a pasting, and Ashwin was taken to the cleaners too, but the slower short ball did some wonders on a surprisingly tacky wicket in Mumbai. Suresh Raina scored 54 of 36 balls and Moeen Ali scored 36 of 24 balls. For DC Chris Woakes picks 2 wickets for 18 runs in his 3 overs.

Delhi Capitals successfully chase the target by scoring 190/3 in 18.4 overs. Delhi openers Dhawan and Shaw put on a wonderful partnership and did enough to take it beyond CSK with that opening stand. They dropped 2 catches of Shaw that cost the game as he scored stupendous knock of 72 runs. Pant came in at number three and ensured there weren’t too many hiccups. Shikhar Dhawan scored 85 runs 54 balls and Prithvi Shaw scored 72 in 38 balls. For CSK Shardul Thakur picks 2 wickets for 53 runs in his 3.4 overs.

CSK: 188/7 in 20 overs
DC: 190/3 in 18.4 overs

Result: Delhi Capitals won by 7 wickets
Man of the Match: Shikhar Dhawan

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : Congratulations to DC for beginning this season with a win. A perfect start for Delhi Capitals in the captaincy of Rishabh Pant. Bowlers were very clinical n power plays and middle overs but conceded runs in death overs but it was all about Shaw and Dhawan show who put an excellent partnership of 138 for the 1st wicket and skipper finish it off with style without any more hiccups. Overall great start for DC.

For CSK bowling and opening is still big concern like previous season. Raina who missed the previous season scored a brilliant half century and given his team a good platform after poor start and good finished by Curran and Jadega. But Kings unable to defend the target and biggest reason was dropped catches by team in crucial time and conceded so many runs in power plays and middle overs. It will be interesting to see how they perform in further games.
