Chennai Super Kings scored 220/3 runs their 20 overs. 82 runs in the first 10 overs, 138 in the second half and CSK have ended on an imposing total. Nothing went KKR’s way, except the toss as they ended up conceding 200+ for the second straight time. If it was Maxwell and ABD the other day, it was Ruturaj and Faf du Plessis tonight – the latter started the carnage, took the back seat when the former exploded and then ensured that he stayed till the end. Ruturaj made a breezy 64, there were handy cameos from Moeen and Dhoni and then Jadeja finished it off in some style. Faf du Plessis scored 95* of 60 balls and Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 64 of 42 balls. For KKR Russell, Narine and Chakravarthy pick 1 wicket each.
A sensational knock of 95* from @faf1307 and a fine 64 from Gaikwad propel #CSK to a total of 220/3 on the board.
This is #CSK's 5th highest total and their highest against #KKR in #VIVOIPL.#KKR chase coming up shortly. Stay tuned! pic.twitter.com/wEb5aF6IAI

Kolkata Knight Riders unable to chase the target and all out for 202 runs 19.1 overs and lost the game by 18 runs. That ends a most bizarre run chase from KKR. It started with a flurry of wickets that left down and out at 31/5 as Deepak Chahar came to the party again. Then began an incredible fightback. Russell, Karthik and Cummins they all infused life into the contest that had no right to be alive. Some extraordinary hitting on show. But as good as they were, the odds were always against them after the top-order had capitulated like that. It needed somewhat of a miracle, but it wasn’t to be today. Pat Cummins scored 66* of 34 balls and Andre Russell scored 54 of 22 balls. For CSK Deepak Chahar pick 4 wickets for 29 runs in his 4 overs quota.
An absolute thriller here at The Wankhede as @ChennaiIPL clinch the game by 18 runs.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : Congratulations to CSK for third consecutive victories. After batting first they set the mammoth total of 220 runs and after that yet another brilliant bowling by Deepak Chahar and but didn’t get good support by other bowlers still manage to hold the nerves and won the game. They are now no.1 in the points table and all the best fir the further games.
For KKR this is back to back losses. Bowling looks concern for this team as they are conceding too many runs in death overs and today again in last 10 overs CSK scored 138 runs and if they bowl like this they can’t ask batsmen to score these runs as 220+ targets cannot chased every day. KKR top and middle order is not consistent in this season so they need to improve their performance in next game for their chances.
Stats
– KKR have a poor record at the Wankhede, losing eight out of the nine games they have played at this venue. Their only win came way back in 2012.
– Dhoni has never hit a boundary off the bowling of Narine in IPL.
– Dinesh Karthik is set to play his 200th IPL match.
– Harbhajan Singh has now had to wait 712 days to pick up a wicket in IPL. In this duration, he’s featured in just fives matches and pulled out of the entire 2020 season.
For Match 15 @faf1307 gets the Man of the Match award for his brilliant knock of 95* as @ChennaiIPL win a thriller against #KKR.#VIVOIPL pic.twitter.com/kbkFF8qs6A
