Vivo IPL: CSK are into the finals after the winning the 1st Qualifier against DC by 4 wickets at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

1st Qualifier (Chennai Super Kings Vs Delhi Capitals)
Game Date: 10th October 2021
Details:
Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to field first in the 1st qualifier game of IPL 2021 against Delhi Capitals. No change in their playing XI. Their four foreign players of this game are Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali, Dwayne Bravo and Josh Hazlewood.

One change in DC playing XI and they have included Tom Curran in the place of Ripal Patel. Their four foreign players of this game are Tom Curran, Shimron Hetmyer, Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada.

Delhi Capitals scored 172/5 in their 20 overs. Excellent recovery from DC after being reduced to 80-4 in the 11th over. None of their batters got to a fifty in the UAE leg before this game and today they have two. That too from two of their finest players. One got it with a touch of elegance, and the other with a bit of muscle. Both had their share of luck though as CSK bowlers tested the duo with all sorts of variations in line and length. Hazlewood picked up both Dhawan and Iyer inside the powerplay and though Prithvi Shaw missed out on a big score, the 83-run partnership of Hetmyer and Pant has allowed Delhi to post a competitive total on the board. The ball is coming on nicely and the slower ones are proving to be tricky if bowled in the right channels. Delhi have a variety of bowling options and one would think that any total over 170 in a pressure game would appear as 200. Expect lots of drama during the chase. Prithvi Shaw scored 60 of 34 balls and skipper Rishabh Pant scored 51* of 35 balls. For CSK Josh Hazlewood pick 2 wickets for 29 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Chennai Super Kings successfully chase the target and scored 173/6 in 19.4 overs and won the game by 4 wickets and reach to final for the 9th occasion. What a run chase. Jadeja hugs his captain while the yellow army is all smiles and happy. Should this have gone this far after that Ruturaj-Uthappa partnership? Definitely no. But credit to DC for not putting their heads down. Shreyas Iyer took two catches and effected a runout within 2 overs after the second timeout. CSK did a strange thing today sending Thakur up the order but come out victors. You can’t fault Pant with the bowling changes after that timeout. Curran was his best bowler of the day, using the big boundary with the slower balls very well, so it had to be him over KG Rabada, who’s not looked himself this season. Dhoni came out, took strike, missed a ball to increase the pressure on his fans like always does, but smashed a flat six off Avesh Khan in the penultimate over to silence everyone! He decided he didn’t need Jadeja and all remaining five balls of the final over and took his side home. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 70 of 50 balls and Robin Uthappa scored 63 of 44 balls. For DC Tom Curran pick 3 wickets for 29 runs in his 3.4 overs.

DC: 172/5 in 20 Overs
CSK: 173/6 in 19.4 Overs

Result: Chennai Super Kings won by 4 wickets
Man of the Match: Ruturaj Gaikwad
