Team India scored 170/8 runs in their 20 overs after batting first. Right, runs, boundaries, wickets in clusters and India finally finish with a decent score on the board. The intentions were clear when Rohit took the slam-bang approach in the batting powerplay, but he couldn’t build on a start. An uncharacteristic slog from Virat Kohli showing signs that India wouldn’t mind losing a wicket or two in pursuit of quick runs, brought about his downfall and was then followed next ball by Rishabh Pant, who was sent in to open, all three falling to the impressive Richard Gleeson. Suryakumar and Hardik put on a small partnership, but Chris Jordan’s double-strike dented the Indians further. Ravindra Jadeja held one end up, and added useful runs with the rest of the batters to push India to 170, a total which they’d fancy to defend. The boundaries are short, but the bounce has been sharp, making run-scoring tough. Four wickets for Jordan and three for Gleeson. Ravindra Jadeja scored 46* runs of 29 balls and Skipper Rohit Sharma scored 31 runs of 20 balls. For England, Chris Jordan pick 4 wickets for 27 runs in his 4 overs quota.

England unable to chased the target and bowled out for 121 runs in 17 overs and lost the game by 49 runs. t is once again India’s bowling in the powerplay that is the difference between the two teams. Bhuvneshwar set the tone for a second match running by nipping out Jason Roy off the very first ball and also added the wicket of Jos Buttler in his next over. Bumrah complemented him perfectly as the pair bowled two maidens and picked up three wickets in the first six overs. England could not recover after that and were behind the 8-ball. Moeen and Willey played a couple of cameos but they needed more from their top order. Earlier on, India’s changed approach saw them slip to 89/5 but a returning Jadeja bailed them out with his career-best T20I score and the total of 170 proved to be more than enough. Moeen Ali scored 35 runs of 21 balls and David Willey scored 33* runs of 22 balls. For Team India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar pick 3 wickets for 15 runs in his 3 overs.
