Just watched Ved movie in Hindi on Disney Plus Hotstar. Let’s focus on the complete details, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.

Director: Riteish Deshmukh
Release Date: 30th Dec 2022 in Cinemas & 28th April on Hotstar
Story: It is an official remake of the 2019 Telugu language romantic drama Majili. Set in Mumbai, movie revolves around Satya Jadhav (Riteish Deshmukh) who lives with his father Dinkar Jadhav (Ashok Saraf) and aspires to play for the Indian Cricket Team and wants to initially get selected for the local Railways cricket team.
While trying to get money to get into a cricket team, he runs into Nisha (Jiya Shankar) and after some misunderstandings, they become close and fall in love. Satya’s life takes a turn when local politician Bhaskar (Raviraj Kande) enters it. Twelve years later, Satya is an alcoholic because Nisha is no longer in his life. Even though he is married to Shravani (Genelia Deshmukh), who secretly loved him since childhood, and he can’t accept her as his wife because he still lives in the past.
Satya’s life takes a turn when he meets Khushi (Khushi Hajare), daughter of Nisha. As luck would have it, Satya starts training Khushi to be a cricketer. Soon, Khushi learns about Satya and her mother before she had married her father. Khushi’s parents, incidentally, had died in an accident. Satya and Shravani adopt Khushi. How Khushi brings them close to each other forms the crux of the drama.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie once available in Hindi language. It is official remake of the 2019 Telugu language romantic drama, Majili.
Satya is madly in love with Nisha. One day, she leaves him. Unable to accept the reality, Satya looks to alcohol to numb the pain. Shravani marries him despite his image in and outside his family. Can she put up with his pain from the past?
Ved story may not be very fresh, but it is, nevertheless, very interesting and talks of the madness of Satya, the crazy love of Shravani, the stubbornness of Khushi, etc. Since it has several tracks, all inter-related, there is so much happening that it doesn’t give you time to think. Screenplay is both, engaging and interesting. The drama has comedy, action, romance and emotions, all of which give you the feeling of watching a wholesome entertainer. The audience fall in love with Satya and Shravani so much that they want them to be together and live happily. Riteish Deshmukh’s performance and direction is pretty good. He has done justice to the script and made a fare which will entertain the masses and the classes. In the second half, Riteish and Genelia become extremely adorable. They have their moments is both heartbreaking and loving. Riteish’s scene with sign language is like a cherry on the top of a delicious cake.
The song Besuri perfectly shows the bond between Satya and Shravani. The song also sees how their relationship has evolved over the years, making it an important track in the film. The movie sees a drastic change and even if it gives off the Majili vibes, there’s always more to Ved than what the Naga Chaitanya-Samantha’s film offered. The end of this movie is so similar. The story is predictable, even if you haven’t watched Majili. More focus is on glorifying the actors than putting forth a convincing plot. The movie, however, sticks to the adaptation.
Overall, it is a beautiful film. It is better than Majili in many places. This is even when Ved could have ended many scenes before, making it more powerful than it currently is. Nonetheless, this movie is hilarious and action-packed aka a masala entertainer everyone loves seeing. This romantic drama is for everyone and should not miss this one. My view on this movie Highly Recommended
