Story: As last anthology this one also consist 5 stories. While the first season included stories set at the beginning or a few months into the pandemic, Unpaused Naya Safar largely leans towards the second wave, which was even more deadly for India than the first.

The anthology begins with a classic insight into the work-from-home life that we’ve all come to live and briefly even love it. First story is titled as The Couple which is directed by Nupur Asthana. It centers around Akriti (Shreya Dhanwanthary) and Dippy (Priyanshu Painyuli) who are a couple working from home in the aftermath of the Covid-19 outbreak. They are committed to each other and to their work, which makes this enforced confinement bearable. Things take a turn when Akriti is laid off due to cost-cutting measures at her workplace. How it takes a toll on their relationship and how they handle is all about this story.

The second story is titled as War Room which is directed by Ayappa KM. It chronicles the life of a widow and teacher Sangeeta Waghmare (Geetanjali Kulkarni) who is now dedicating her energies and time at a Covid-19 war room in the city as schools continue to remain shut. A call from a patient’s relatives brings back bitter memories, of losing her son and seeing the one responsible for his death being released from prison. She is confused if or not to help or take revenge and show she deal with situation is all about this story.

Third story of this anthology is titled as Teen Tigada which is directed by Ruchir Arun. It deals with separation from one’s usual circumstances during a lockdown and the likely disastrous effect of brakes being put on normal life. is about a trio who have stolen a consignment of consumer goods for one NalliSwamy and are compelled to bide their time in a rundown factory till lockdown restrictions in the wake of the second wave of Covid are eased and their loot can be sold off. Chandan (Saqib Saleem) needs to close the deal so he can go to his wife Supriya who is expecting their child, while Ajeet (Sam Mohan) wants to repay his father’s debt. And all Dimple (Ashish Verma) wants while they are cooped up there are some samosas, if not decent meal instead of the noodles and biscuits stored at the place. How they stick together despite their many differences and squabbles forms the crux of this story.

Gond Ke Laddu is my favorite story and 4th of this anthology which is directed by Shikha Makan. Story revolves around Sushila Tripathi (Neena Kulkarni) who wants to see her newborn granddaughter in New Delhi. But due to the Covid surge and her daughter Ritu insists she stay put in her home in Uttar Pradesh until it’s safe for her to venture out. She learns internet and send Laddus via courier. Courier guy Rohan (Lakshvir Saran) who goes out of his way to deliver her parcel for her daughter but faced with an accident and parcel fell and got break. But with considerable help from his wife Geetanjali (Darshana Rajendra) he able to deliver the order and tell the truth. What happened after is all about this story.

5th and final story also most intense among all is titled as Vaikunth which is directed by Nagraj Manjule who also played the role of Vishnu. He works at the crematorium and wants his son to study hard to achieve some stature in life. His fear that someday an ambulance might drive it from the Janhit Hospital, where his father is admitted for Covid, instantly strikes a chord, reminding us of our worries and worse fears about our near and dear ones. As he helps cremate many bodies, his father’s name shakes him up. What happens after that is all about this story.

Positives
1. Performances
2. 3 Stories
3. Direction

Negatives
1. 2 Stories
2. Screenplay

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I have watched the trailer of this series planned to watch on premiere day because watched the first season and it was good and trailer of this new season is also very good.

Anthologies have become the go-to format for streaming platforms in the last couple of years. Ideas have ranged from assembling a group of young directors and giving them a theme that runs as a common thread through each of their shorts; to having a veteran present a collection of short films, each of which is directed by a cinema heavyweight. Unpaused: Naya Safar continues to takes the legacy of the first anthology forward and yet again brings together 5 unique filmmakers with new stories of hope, love, connections and second chances that celebrate the resilient human spirit in these uncertain times.

So to sum up, anthology is all about two good stories and a half good story. The half-good story comes as the first episode and the biggest problem is two badly made stories coming before the other two good ones. For an average audience, it is difficult to sit through that two bad stories and wait for the good ones to come. First story is average but 2nd and 3rd is not impressive but it ends on good note as last 2 story of this anthology is very perfect mixture of light drama and intense moments. My View on this web-series Time pass
