Consecutive ODI series win for Bangladesh against India-cricketmovie.com

TOYAM Sports Limited ODI Series: Skipper Rohit Sharma valiant effort goes in vain as Bangladesh clinch the last ball thriller in the 2nd ODI at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. They won the game by 5 runs and completes their back-to-back ODI series win against Team India at home. Now I will share the details of this game match in my way.

2nd ODI (India Vs Bangladesh)
Game Date: 7th December 2022
Details:
Bangladesh skipper Litton Das again won the toss and elected to bat first in the 2nd ODI game against Team India at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. Two changes in Team India and Axar Patel and Umran Malik are playing today in the place of injured Kuldeep Sen and Shahbaz Ahmed.

Bangladesh scored 271/7 in their 50 overs after batting first. Mehidy walks off to a thunderous response from the jam-packed crowd here in Mirpur. What an astounding recovery this has been from the hosts! Siraj and Sundar had reduced Bangladesh to 69/6 at one stage, and a humiliating loss seemed inevitable. However, just like the last game, India faced a bullish opponent in Mehidy who refused to bow down. While the more seasoned Mahmudullah appeared to be scratchy, Mehidy looked fluent from the word-go, clearly oozing in confidence after his Houdini Act last game, and the duo put on a marathon stand to turn the tables on India. Runs kept coming steadily and despite Mahmudullah’s dismissal in the slog overs, Bangladesh were unstoppable in the death overs. 68 runs came off the last five overs, with Mehidy going berserk, also aided by a handy cameo from Nasum. Momentum clearly with Bangladesh after this recovery but the pitch seems to have eased out considerably, and India will fancy chasing this down. Problem though, is that they have injury concerns with regards to Rohit and Chahar. It’s do-or-die for the tourists, so expect them to fight hard. Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 100* runs of 82 balls and Mahmudullah scored 77 runs of 96 balls. For Team India, Washington Sundar pick 3 wickets for 37 runs in his 10 overs quota.

Team India unable to chase the target and scored 266/9 runs in their 50 overs and lost the game by just 5 runs. Memorable series win for Bangladesh, their second successive one at home against India, seven years apart. They haven’t lost a home ODI series since October 2016, so the result shouldn’t really be surprising but it’s still one that not many expected. Rohit tried his best at the end, walking out half-fit and launching into an array of shots, but he fell one big shot away from taking India across the line. Axar and Iyer were impressive earlier in the chase after India had slipped to a precarious situation. Bangladesh’s bowlers were clinical with the new-ball and then responded well in the key moments to ensure that the series was sealed with a game in hand. All the bowlers did their part but Ebadot and Shakib were the standouts, with Mehidy also picking up two crucial wickets to add to this superlative ton early in the day. Shreyas Iyer scored 82 runs of 102 balls and Axar Patel scored 56 of 56 balls. For Bangladesh, Ebadot Hossain picks 3 wickets for 45 runs in his 10 overs quota.
