India bowled out for 186 runs in 41.2 overs after batting first. What an afternoon for Bangladesh. They won the toss, asked India to bat with some tackiness around and the spinners wiped out the top three quickly. Ebadot used pace and bounce on this pitch to join Shakib‘s party and the duo shared 9 wickets between them. Now about Shakib. You look at the scorecard and think the pitch would have helped him. But it wasn’t exactly spinning much, if at all was stopping on the batter slightly. You think it’s just the slider, but his releases are different. Some wide, some very slingy and low. And he is very smart with his lines too. Gets some turn on occasions. The Indian batters had no clue. Clearly, they were concerned in their mind about the arm ball. Some played outside the line, some played inside the line, and he got five of them with the ball pitching almost in a similar area. Now to get five batters from almost the same area is some skill. It was no surprise that Shakib today recorded best figures by a left-arm spinners against India in ODIs. KL Rahul scored 73 runs of 70 balls and skipper Rohit Sharma scored 27 runs of 31 balls. For Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan pick 5 wickets for 36 runs in his 10 overs quota.

Bangladesh chase the target successfully by scoring 187/9 in 46 overs and won the game by 1 wicket. The crowd can go back very happy. What a roller coaster of a game. India should not have been in a great position for the score they posted, but Bangladesh played absolutely poor cricket in the middle overs. Washi started the collapse by getting a set Litton Das and Bangladesh lot 7 wickets for 62 runs since then. India were cruising home with the passionate home crowd stunned, but Mehidy lifted their spirits shot by shot. Showed how a determined batter can still score runs on this pitch and in the end a bit of dew gave aid as well. Not to discount Fizz’s valuable gluing at the end than trying to slog and let his partner down. Six years ago they made a mess needing 2 runs off 3 balls trying to go for glory. This time it’s all calmness from Mehidy that he only played a controlled shot for the winning runs. Teammates lift Mehidy and Mushfiqur is absolutely thrilled so much so that you fear his eyes will pop out as he animatedly congratulates Mehidy for his outstanding effort. Skipper Litton Das scored 41 runs of 63 balls and Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 38* of 39 balls. For Team India, Mohammed Siraj picks 3 wickets for 32 runs in his 10 overs quota.
Things went right down to the wire but it was Bangladesh who won the first ODI.#TeamIndia will look to bounce back in the second ODI of the series 👍 #BANvIND
