Rajasthan Royals scored 193/8 in their 20 overs after batting first. Good score but this is a very good batting surface. Mumbai bat slightly deep than Rajasthan. At the toss Rohit said as a batting group they wanted a score in front for approach. “Bit nervous, not sure it’s a good score with short boundary on one-side,” says centurion Jos Buttler. This is exactly why MI will not be too unhappy. One issue with the Royals today was they had batters only till No. 6. It was Ashwin at 7 so the batters had to play deep, which is probably why Buttler slowed down a tad towards the end. But two games straight, Hetmyer has rocketed them at the end overs. This could have been a smaller total if not for him. Jaiswal and Padikkal fell early. Buttler took off with a 26-run over from Thampi. Samson looked good until he mishit Pollard, but Hetmyer revived the innings with another 26-run over, this time from Pollard. Bumrah bowled a stunning 3-run 19th over that saw three wickets fall. Mills finished off with a three-fer too. It’s going to be an interesting battle between a good bowling line-up vs quality batters. Jos Buttler scored 100 runs of 68 balls and Shimron Hetmyer scored 35 runs of 14 balls. For MI, Jasprit Bumrah pick 3 wickets for 17 runs in his 4 overs quota.
Innings Break!
A brilliant 100 from @josbuttler and quick-fire knocks of 35 and 30 from Hetmyer and Samson, propel #RR to a total of 193/8 on the board.

Mumbai Indians unable to chased the target and scored only 170/8 in their 20 overs and lost the game by 23 runs. When under 12 rpo is needed off the last five overs on Mumbai pitches, you generally fancy Mumbai Indians to chase it down. They’ve done it so many times in the past. However, today wasn’t to be one of those. RR’s spin twins broke the game open and with Pollard having one of those forgettable outings with the bat, the five-time champs fell way short in the end. It seemed a cruise earlier with Kishan and Varma going great guns, their fifties giving the perfect platform to the run chase. With perfect batting conditions and a short boundary on one side, the odds were in favour of Rohit’s men. However, Ashwin removed Varma in the 15th over and then Chahal struck twice in the very next over to send back David and Sams. The leggie should have had a hat-trick too, if not for Karun’s dropped catch at slip. A fine all-round performance from the Royals who rode on Buttler’s fab century to post a competitive total. Royals the only team to win by batting first this season. Tilak Varma scored 61 runs of 33 balls and Ishan Kishan score 54 runs of 43 balls. For RR, Yuzvendra Chahal & Navdeep Saini pick 2 wickets each.
That's that from Match 9. @rajasthanroyals win by 23 runs.
