43rd game (Gujarat Titans Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore)
Game Date: 30th April 2022
Details:
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bat first in the 43rd game of IPL 2022 against Gujarat Titans at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. RCB made one change and included Mahipal Lomror in the place of Suyash Prabhudessai.

GT made Two changes for this game, Pradeep Sangwan and Sai Sudharsan comes in the place of injured Yash Dayal and Abhinav Manohar.

Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 170/6 runs in their 20 overs after batting first. RCB have finished with a score that, although not intimidating, might just be respectable for the course on this pitch. It started off as a track where there was some value for shots, with the big dimensions and racy outfield. However, as the ball got older, the off-pace deliveries on a hard length did get tougher to score off. Kohli worked himself back to some sort of form, even though his tempo wasn’t the most ideal. It was young Patidar who created the impetus with a counterpunching knock, and then cameos from Maxwell and Lomror pushed the score to decent levels. They’d have loved to get another 10-15 runs, which may have been challenging but this isn’t a bad score though. Comeback man Sangwan was the standout bowler with a fab spell, with Rashid being the other tidy performer. It’s a total that Gujarat will fancy chasing, but also one that keeps Bangalore in the game. Virat Kohli scored 58 runs of 53 balls and Rajat Patidar scored 52 runs of 32 balls. For GT, Pradeep Sangwan pick 2 wickets for 19 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Gujarat Titans successfully chased the target by scoring 174/4 in 19.3 overs and won the game by 6 wickets. Glum faces in the RCB camp. Their third straight loss after a promising start to the tournaments. GT were under serious pressure today as well with Hardik walking back for a cheap score. But Miller and Tewatia with their calm heads on ensured they didn’t panic or let RCB back in. RCB did have the bowling to fight with 170 as the slower balls and the turners were gripping the pitch. But GT played a master stroke which made a huge difference. RCB had Shahbaz and Hasaranga who spin the ball away from the right-hander, so GT probably dropped Abhinav and played the left-handed Sai Sudharsan because the latter will find it easier to bat with the ball coming into him. The youngster played a decent hand steadying the ship, then Miller and Tewaita being lefties also put pressure on RCB’s spinners. Harshal was effective, but he didn’t get support as the rest leaked the runs. The fielding too wasn’t sharp from RCB. Rahul Tewatia scored 43* runs of 25 balls and David Miller score 39* runs of 24 balls. For RCB, Wanindu Hasaranga & Shahbaz Ahmed picks 2 wickets each.
