Punjab Kings scored 189/9 in their 20 overs after batting first. Only the Punjab Kings could have produced an innings like this. Absolute roller-coaster from the get-go. They didn’t get the right tempo straightaway and the early wickets didn’t help but Livingstone got ticking again, in his trademark fashion and found the right support from Jitesh and Shahrukh. The counterpunch was riveting to watch and when the three were at it, Punjab seemed like getting a score in excess of 200. But then, they did what they’ve done in the last couple of games, losing wickets at the wrong time to poor game awareness. From nowhere, 153/5 became 162/9 and a highly embarrassing finish seemed inevitable. Only for Chahar and Arshdeep to then chance their luck, and add a precious 27 runs off just 13 balls, thereby restoring some momentum back for Punjab while heading into the break. Gujarat will be a bit upset at that last-wicket stand but these are good batting conditions and a short boundary one side, so it’s definitely a chaseable score. Liam Livingstone scored 64 runs of 27 balls and Shikhar Dhawan scored 35 runs of 30 balls. For GT, Rashid Khan picks 3 wickets for 22 runs in his 4 overs quota.
Innings Break! @liaml4893 stars with the bat as @PunjabKingsIPL post 189/9 on the board. 👏 👏
Meanwhile, @rashidkhan_19 was the pick of the bowlers for @gujarat_titans. 👌 👌

Gujarat Titans successfully chased the target and scored 190/4 in the last ball of 20 over with a six and won the game by 6 wickets. It’s like a bad dream that never ends for Punjab. Tewatia doesn’t let it. With 12 needed off two balls and with the batsman on strike having faced just one ball in his stay, surely you’d back your bowler. Surely. The entire Gujarat dressing room has charged out there onto the field, Miller has thrown off his helmet, and Tewatia has been mobbed. Just when we thought we’d seen it all. Just when we thought the bowlers and the opposition (at least Punjab, surely) would have found a way to counter Tewatia. Just when we thought he’d done his career-defining stuff in 2020. Hah. Silly, us. So Shubman Gill set this chase up with one of the most elegant 96s you’d ever see, Sai Sudharsan gave him good company, Arshdeep and Chahar bowled brilliantly towards the end to pull things back and not let Gujarat run away with this as it looked like at one stage. Nobody’s going to remember any of that. Rahul Tewatia will not let them. Shubman Gill scored 96 runs of 59 balls and Sai Sudharsan score 35 runs of 30 balls. For PBKS, Kagiso Rabada pick 2 wickets for 35 runs in his 4 overs quota.
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧. 𝗔. 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗛! 👌 👌@rahultewatia02 creams two successive SIXES on the last two deliveries as the @hardikpandya7-led @gujarat_titans beat #PBKS & complete a hat-trick of wins in the #TATAIPL 2022! 👏 👏 #PBKSvGT
