First win for MI in Tata IPL 2022-cricketmovie.com

Tata IPL: First win for MI in this season. They beat RR by 5 wickets in the 44th game of IPL 2022. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

44th game (Mumbai Indians Vs Rajasthan Royals)
Game Date: 30th April 2022
Details:
Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first in the 44th game of IPL 2022 against Rajasthan Royals at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai. RR remain unchanged for this game

MI made Two changes for this game, Tim David and debutant Kumar Kartikeya comes in the place of Dewald Brevis and Jaydev Unadkat.

Rajasthan Royals scored 158/6 runs in their 20 overs after batting first. Superb final over from Meredith. Just the 3 off it. Still RR’s 158 is a good total on this pitch. From the start it looked two-paced, spongy and sticky. Padikkal and Samson went early while Mitchell struggled, Buttler did struggle too and got a blow from Meredith to the temple which shook him up. He hung on and battled the pitch before slamming Shokeen for four consecutive sixes to threaten a late onslaught once again. But the spinner got him out in the same over off the last ball to raise MI’s hopes. R Ashwin came in and played a fine cameo which provided the boost to RR’s innings. For MI, Meredith, and the debutant Kartikeya were impressive. Jos Buttler scored 67 runs of 52 balls and Ravichandran Ashwin scored 21 runs of 9 balls. For MI, Riley Meredith & Hrithik Shokeen pick 2 wickets each.

Mumbai Indians successfully chased the target by scoring 161/5 in 19.2 overs and won the game by 5 wickets. Phew! It’s taken nine matches for the five-time IPL champions to get off the mark. Who would have expected that at the start of the tournament! On a two-paced pitch, the Mumbai bowlers did a good job to restrict the Royals to 158. In reply, they lost both their openers inside the powerplay. While Rohit perished cheaply to Ashwin, Ishan Kishan came out all guns blazing and got his team off to a brisk start. Suryakumar Yadav promoted to No. 3, coupled caution with aggression perfectly. He found an able ally in Tilak Varma and the duo added 81 runs for the third wicket. The asking-rate was always under check, however MI lost both the set batters within a span of three deliveries. Tim David hit a monstrous six off Chahal and backed it up with back-to-back fours against Kuldeep Sen. With four needed, Pollard fell off the first ball of the final over. But, Daniel Sams came out and capped off the match in style by hitting a six off the very first ball that he faced. Suryakumar Yadav scored 51 runs of 39 balls and Tilak Varma score 35 runs of 30 balls. For RR, Boult, Krishan, Ashwin, Chahal & Kuldeep Sen picks 1 wicket each.
