RR beat KKR by 7 runs in IPL 2022-cricketmovie.com

Tata IPL: Buttler century and Chahal hattrick helps RR to win a thriller against KKR by 7 runs in the 30th game of IPL 2022. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

30th game (Rajasthan Royals Vs Kolkata Knight Riders)
Game Date: 18th April 2022
Details:
Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bowl first in the 30th game of IPL 2022 against Rajasthan Royals at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. One change in KKR and they have included Shivam Mavi in the place of Aman Khan.

Three changes in RR playing XI and Karun Nair, Obed McCoy and Trent Boult come in and Rassie, Kuldeep Sen and Jimmy Neesham.

Rajasthan Royals scored 217/5 in their 20 overs after batting first. A massive 217 for RR and once again it was the Jos Buttler show. Started off with a couple of inside-edges off Umesh in the first over but after that just flicked a switch and sent the ball flying all over the Brabourne. Buttler quickly sized up the track and kept swinging early into his innings. The KKR bowlers had no clue except for Narine who kept him quiet. Padikkal enjoyed the exhibition from the other end till he fell for 24. Then came Samson who played a quickfire cameo as well. Buttler eventually reached his 2nd 100 of this season and 3rd overall. But he got out and a slight comeback from KKR as they pulled things back with wickets. Just 10 came off the 18th and 19th overs before Hetmyer finished off with a big 18-run over from Russell. KKR have a mountain to climb. Jos Buttler scored 103 runs of 61 balls and skipper Sanju Samson scored 38 runs of 19 balls. For KKR, Sunil Narine pick 2 wickets for 21 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Kolkata Knight Riders unable to chased the target and bowled out for 120 and lost the game by just 7 runs. A 200 plus score being chased down 14 years ago didn’t seem that much probable. It seemed far-fetched rather. But IPL and T20 mercenaries have over the years defined that almost every record in this format is beatable. And KKR almost did that. A target of 218 needed relentless aggression. Finch provided the start, Iyer played the role of the catalyst and the others played their parts as well but didn’t do it that effectively. RR were lived as the game went away from them for most parts. A near perfect batting display wasn’t enough. Chahal was the difference. His four wickets in an over broke the back of the chase and almost killed it before Umesh Yadav came out with a swinging blade. But McCoy held his nerves and delivered the fatal blows in the final over with 11 still needed. Skipper Shreyas Iyer scored 85 runs of 51 balls and Aaron Finch score 58 runs of 28 balls. For RR, Yuzvendra Chahal pick 5 wickets for 40 runs in his 4 overs quota.

RR: 217/5 in 20 overs
KKR: 210 all out in 19.4 overs

Result: Rajasthan Royals won by 7 runs
