Tadap Review: Ahan Shetty promising debut performance and music works in not so convincing romantic action drama
Tadap Movie Rating: 2.5 Stars

Finally watched Tadap movie in Cinemas. So let’s focus on the cast, release date story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.

Cast: Ahan Shetty, Tara Sutaria, Kumud Mishra and Saurabh Shukla
Director: Milan Luthria
Release Date: 3rd December 2021 in Cinemas

Story: Ishana (Ahan Shetty) lives in Mussoorie with his foster father (Saurabh Shukla) who is affectionately called Daddy by everybody in Mussoorie. Daddy is a close aide of Damodar Nautiyal (Kumud Mishra) who is a politician who is fighting the state elections. Ishana runs a theatre and helps Daddy and Damodar in political activities.

On the vote counting day Damodar’s daughter Ramisa (Tara Sutaria) returns from the United Kingdom where she is studying. Damodar wins the elections and when Ishana is celebrating the former’s victory, Ramisa spots him. She gets attracted to him and soon she befriends him and even confesses that she is attracted to him.

After few days she tells him that Damodar is compelling him to get married. She assures Ishana that she will convince her father to change his mind and that they should not meet for a few days. Ishana’s utter shock and disbelief that Ramisa is married off to Anurag. The new couple goes away to London where Anurag lives and does his jewellery business. However, Ishana is unable to forget Ramisa and move on in life. What happens with their love story is all about this film.

Positives
1. Performances
2. Dialogues
3. Music
4. Cinematography
5. Direction

Negatives
1. Story lacks novelty
2. Screenplay
3. 1st Half
4. Not Convincing

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie on first day because of Ahan Shetty debut and trailer looked promising and it is remake of Telugu movie RX 100 which I have watched and it is nice movie.

Based in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, Ishana meets foreign returned Ramisa. As their passionate romance brews, Ishana falls madly in love with her, but things turn out differently. What seemed to be a straightforward relationship gets hit by the most unexpected storm. Nothing seems to be going right for the star crossed lovers. When things seem almost overwhelming in their finality, Ishana has one more draconian hurdle thrown his way. How he copes with it forms the soul of this incredible love story.

Tadap the first half doesn’t have anything new and might test the patience of the viewers. Also, the obsession of Ishana is not convincing or even logical. But the twist in the second half is unpredictable and also dialogues are impressive. The ‘Tumse Bhi Zyada‘ song also arrests attention and the parallels made between two drastically different situations is seen to be believed. Overall film rests on some well executed scenes, shocking twist and a fine debut by Ahan Shetty. However, the clichéd and outdated storyline is a major downside of the film. My view on this movie Time Pass but if you have watched RX100 and liked it then this is recommended for you.
