Team India scored 184/6 runs in their 20 overs after batting first. A massive score by the Indians after being asked to bat first. Taskin was nigh unplayable at times and was unlucky to finish wicketless. But Shakib finished his spell in search of early wickets and India then prospered. They lost their captain early, but KL took charge, waited for Taskin to be done with and then opened up, carving apart Shoriful as he raised a much-needed 31-ball half-century. That brought in Suryakumar and he was onto his job, making a 16-ball 30 before being castled by Shakib. Hardik, DK and Axar all fell in single digits as they went in search of quick runs, but Kohli held on, anchored the innings and then opened up towards the end. So did Ashwin with a small cameo and India finish with a fine score. Taskin was excellent, but it was Hasan Mahmud and Shakib who grabbed all the wickets to fall. Virat Kohli scored 64* runs of 44 balls and KL Rahul scored 50 runs of 32 balls. For Bangladesh, Hasan Mahmud pick 3 wickets for 47 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Bangladesh unable to chase the target and scored only 145/6 in their 16 overs. Due to rain target for them was 151 in 16 overs. India edge home a win in a thrilling encounter. And they have to thank their fielding mostly KL and also the rain for helping them with this one. The game was totally in Bangladesh’s grasp when Litton Das was going hammer and tongs. 66 for no loss they were when the rain came down and they were 17 ahead on DLS par at that stage. They would’ve won had the rain stayed put. But things changed post the rain, first ball, Das slipped while going back for a second and if that wasn’t warning enough, next ball he stumbled while going back for the second and was run-out with a direct-hit from KL. That proved to be the turning point of the game as the much-criticised Indian fielding turned up on the night. Bangladesh skied everything up from that point and India caught them all. There was a late hint of a heist from Nurul Hasan and Taskin Ahmed but Hardik in the penultimate over and Arshdeep Singh in the last kept their nerve to ensure India didn’t suffer a defeat which would’ve been almost fatal for them in terms of the semi-final race. Litton Das scored 60 of 27 balls and Nurul Hasan scored 25* runs of 14 balls. For Team India, Arshdeep & Pandya pick 2 wickets each.
