Scotland bowled out for 85 runs in 17.4 overs. Big wins the need of the hour for India and their bowlers have set up the stage for another one today, blowing Scotland away for a paltry 85. Hardly anything to write home about from Scotland’s point of view. Munsey played some good shots maybe Leask with a couple as well. But other than that it was a procession of wickets, with India’s bowlers proving to be way too good on a pitch that had something for both spin and seam. Jadeja probably the pick of the lot today, although Shami’s late burst where he targetted the stumps stood out as well. George Munsey scored 24 of 19 balls and Michael Leask scored 21 of 12 balls. Team India chased down the target in just 6.3 overs by scoring 89/2. This is their biggest win in terms of ball spare in T20 cricket. Quite the comeback this from India. It may still not be enough if New Zealand beat Afghanistan, but Kohli’s men are definitely doing whatever they can to qualify. India needed to get the win inside 7.1 overs to go past Afghanistan’s net run rate, they nearly did it in the powerplay itself. So, that’s the big news for now India’s net run rate is above Afghanistan and obviously, New Zealand. Going to be more number-crunching in the coming days, that’s for sure. Fow now, it’s time to believe if you’re an Indian supporter. Scotland will feel disappointed, wasn’t the easiest of pitches in the first half but wasn’t an 85 all-out track either.
