Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie in cinemas as loved the trailer and liked 1st part of this horror comedy universe.

Chanderi is once again haunted by a sinister force, as women in the town are mysteriously abducted by a headless entity. Bicky, Janna, Bittu, and Rudra reunite to confront and defeat the evil once more.

Stree 2 lives up to the expectations placed by its predecessor and is a complete fun ride. It balances all elements of horror, comedy, entertainment and romance perfectly, without compromising on either front. The VFX in the film particularly shines in the second half, bringing a world of authenticity to another make-believe backdrop. The movie also has a couple of surprise cameos that make the film an even bigger ensemble than it was at the start. Rajkumar Rao is once again in top form, delivering his signature performance with strong support from Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee. Pankaj Tripathi continues to shine as Rudra, stealing scenes with his witty one-liners and impeccable shuddh Hindi. The screenplay gives each character their moment in the spotlight, allowing them all to stand out. Amar Kaushik’s direction is supreme and its clear that his storytelling has evolved. The way he has infused humour while also scaring the audience is seen to be believed.

On the flipside, movie is laugh-out-loud hilarious all right, but the film gets stuck in a loop that is perfectly summed up in an overstretched and predictable climactic battle in which Vicky and the girl he is enamored of but knows nothing about face step into the cave where the monster, evil incarnate, hides. The other drawback that the film suffers from is in its second half is just minutes before approaching the climax. Even though the film’s editing (Hemanti Sarkar) is crisp and watertight in totality, the film’s second half requires trimming. Besides that, the presence of two songs as the end credits simply ends up dragging the film. This could have been avoided. It runs mostly on gags. The focus of the film is hardly on Stree or Shraddha Kapoor’s character and is more on Sar-Kata and, Vicky and his friends.

Overall, movie retains the energy and charm of the original with a clever script that brings a fresh twist. The film sets the right tone to enjoy a horror movie without any scares. It is so captivating that you won’t want to blink for fear of missing a moment. Overall, it’s a thoroughly enjoyable experience, filled with laughter and scares, resulting in a spooky entertaining ride. My view on this movie Recommended.
