We were introduced to Himmat Singh when he was being questioned by officers Naresh Chadha (Parmeet Sethi) and DK Banerjee (Kali Prasad Mukherjee) for some irregularities in the distribution of funds.

Now, in Special Ops 1.5 Chadha and Banerjee return to their inquisition seats once again but this time the person sitting opposite them is Delhi police officer and Himmat Singh’s long-time ally Abbas Sheikh (Vinay Pathak). Sheikh has been called to give a character certificate to Himmat Singh to assess his performance and decide his retirement package.

Sheikh takes us back to 2003 when Himmat Singh wasn’t the Himmat Singh we know today. RAW was try to hunt down the rogue agent Maninder Singh (Aadil Khan) who has some sensitive information that could jeopardies the nation’s security. RAW chief ask him to work with his friend and fellow agent Vijay (Aftab Shivdasani) to catch him. How Maninder got highly classified data from Indian diplomats and How Vijay and Himmat track down him is all about this series.

4. Length

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I have watched the trailer of this series planned to watch on release day because have watched the first season and it was excellent and like espionage thriller stories.

Special Ops revolves around the origin of its eponymous protagonist Himmat Singh way before he became a legend at R&AW and much before he spread his team of handpicked sleeper agents across the world to bring down Ikhlaq Khan, the secret sixth terrorist behind the 2001 parliament bombing and the unknown mastermind behind most of India’s terror attacks. This part takes you From honey-trapping of highly placed Indian diplomats and officials to political conspiracies, intelligence leaks, rogue agents, shocking revelations and personal tragedies.

Series is never as interesting as it falls tiredly into expected traps at every step. Much of the plot revolves around Himmat and Vijay working together to track down Maninder which becomes tedious after a while. So far the cliffhanger ending of this part indicates that Neeraj Pandey is creating a Special Ops universe with more stories to be discovered. That being said, you must also watch this espionage thriller if you want to be a part of this universe. My View on this web-series Recommended only if you have watched the first season and interested to know Himmat Singh back story.
