Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie in cinemas on first day first show as biggest fan of Salman Khan. The king of Rajkot takes on a powerful minister and embarks on a mission to protect the recipients of his late wife’s organs preserving her memory at all costs.

Sikandar is a proper emotional drama between a loving wife and husband and the challenges the husband faced after his wife passes away. The basic storyline of organ donation and letting your organs live even after you pass away is good but the screenplay that Murugadoss chose to tell the point is routine and bland. The music and Background music of movie is praiseworthy. It perfectly complements the on-screen action and drama. The soundtrack tries to amplify the emotional impact, while the BGM perfectly crafts tension, suspense and excitement. Salman Khan’s presence is electrifying, and he commands every scene with his trademark charisma. Whether he’s delivering punchlines, performing stunts or simply walking into a room, his aura is undeniable. However, he lacks emotional connection in the scenes where he is trying to deal with the grief of his wife’s death. For me it’s one of best performance from Rashmika Mandanna. Rest cast supported well.

The story and the narrative are the biggest letdown of this larger-than-life movie; even if they are trying to draw in die-hard Salman Khan fans, we wish they had taken the action notches higher. A few standout punches and stunts here and there could have probably salvaged this one. There used to be a time when Murugadoss films used to have a lot of detailing and creative thoughts even in the title cards also. It pains to see a creative director of his caliber doing such a mediocre film. It also falls in the template of what we nowadays call a Pan-India film where Bollywood stars work in a film which is helmed by a south filmmaker and has elements of south massy actioners.

Overall, movie attempts to be an emotional drama that captures the bond between a husband and his wife and succeed to some extent despite loopholes. It showcases Salman Khan in a role that’s sure to resonate with his fanbase. However, the impact is diluted by a weak script and erratic direction. My view on this movie Time Pass and must watch for Bhai fans.
