Shaadisthan Review: Interesting concept on conservative families

Just watched Shaadisthan movie on Disney Plus Hotstar VIP. So let’s analyze the cast, release date, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.

Story: The story begins with an live performance of a ban. After that we see a young girl Arshi (Medha Shankar) getting an earful from her father Sanjay (Rajan Modi) and mother Kamla Sharma (Nivedita Bhattacharya) for running away from home due to which they miss their flight to Rajasthan. Now as fate would have it the family has to ride with a bunch of young musicians, who are also the groom’s friends going to perform at his wedding.
Touring rock group is led by vocalist Sasha (Kirti Kulhari), musicians Freddie (Apurva Dogra), Jigme (Shenpenn Khymsar) and Imaad (Ajay Jayanthi). They en route to Ajmer, Rajasthan, on the request of a common friend who’s younger brother is supposed to get engaged to a barely 18-year-old Arshi against her wishes.
Inside a camper van, their opposing philosophies meet, and they grudgingly begin to share portions of their normally separate lives. Women can do whatever the heck they want in Sasha’s universe. Sasha defines herself as a composer, musician, and free spirit. Arshi, on the other hand, is unable to talk and is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. As a result of her father’s plans to marry her.
What happen at the end will Arshi get engaged in Ajmer or her family able to change the stereotype of society. You need to watch this film for the climax.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : It rarely happens in current time that a movie is better than it’s trailer. When I had watched the trailer of this film planned to watch in my free time.
When a highly conservative family ends up onboard a mini-bus full of unconventional musicians, their starkly different worlds collide. As they ride together from Mumbai to a small town shaadi in Rajasthan, it lays bare deep-rooted patriarchy, rebellion and gender stereotypes.
When I had watched the trailer it looks average but movie is better than this and it’s good time pass movie that can be watched with full family. Although climax and execution could have been better still good enough. It embarks on the road less taken but reaches its destination to truly engage and entertain its audience. Despite the message falling flat, watch this one for the honest performances and the refreshing music. My view on this movie (Recommended)
