Story: Movie revolves superhumans Samaritan and Nemesis who were twin brothers with superpowers who lived in Granite City. They ultimately fought in the city’s power plant causing a fire and both were apparently killed in the ensuing explosion. He begin to suspects that his mysterious and reclusive Joe Smith (Sylvester Stallone) is actually a legend hiding in plain sight.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie in my free time because trailer looks good and loved few Sylvester Stallone movies.

Story revolves around the world of superheroes Samaritan vs Nemsis through an animated fight sequences. The Samaritan who stands up for everything good and right has apparently fallen. But a kid in the next door neighbourhood believes that he’s still alive. Dressed in a hoodie and working a regular day job, the kid is convinced that Samaritan is his, the guy who collects trash. The entire film now revolves around the discovery of Samaritan and how he emerges from the shadows to fight the evil that grips the city.

It’s always fascinating to see a superhero film not based on a Marvel or DC character because the world is entirely original. The idea of an invincible superhero living in hiding as a sanitation worker is excellent, but the movie never does much we haven’t seen before. The novelty of this idea comes from how it has its central characters, including the superhero, living in poverty and crime. It’s a superb idea to depict this in a superhero film, but the writing holds the movie back. The premise of a kid who can’t stand up for himself and requires the assistance of a legendary hero who has fallen upon hard times has been done to death.

The story beats are predictable throughout, offering everything we would expect to see from a film with this premise. It offers one good twist, but beyond that, most of it is reheated leftovers with cliché writing and a story with little new to offer. The performances in this movie can also be surprisingly weak, given that the actors have all given much better performances in their other work. In a world obsessed with big ticket VFX action scenes, the raw hand-to-hand combat shots of Samaritan feel refreshingly new. The fight scenes are shot in the city and the entire track of discovering Samaritan from his shadows is quite entertaining. My view on this movie Time Pass only if you are fan of Sylvester Stallone.
