Pakistan scored 331/9 runs in their 50 overs after batting first. Led by Babar Azam, Pakistan didn’t do much wrong as once the batters got set, they made it count. Babar got a daddy ton. Imam got a fifty and Rizwan played a busy knock to ruffle the feathers in the opposition camp. Mahmood again started off well for England and Pakistan were off to a sedate start. But once the newish ball was seen through, it was about the batters. They took charge. The Babar-Rizwan partnership not only added a truckload of runs but also got them at a quick time. They rotated the strike well and got that boundary during the middle period at will. Skipper Babar Azam scored 158 of 139 balls and Mohammad Rizwan scored 74 of 58 balls. For England Brydon Carse pick 5 wickets for 61 runs in his 10 overs quota.

England chased down the target by scoring 332/7 in 48 overs and won the game by 3 wickets and series by 3-0. A massive roar as the players walk off towards the pavilion. Both Carse and Craig Overton hug and holler their way back to the dressing room. Chasing what looked like a challenging 332, England erased almost half the target by the 20th over (151/4) and from that stage, it was just about getting occasional boundaries and playing sensible cricket. Yes, you could argue that England lost one too many wickets trying to go too hard in the first half, but that’s how they play the game. Eoin Morgan has repeatedly emphasized that they are okay to look bad at the cost of endorsing a ruthless brand of cricket. Salt started off, Crawley took over and then handed over the enforcer duties to Ben Stokes. And when three players play such a role, no target is big enough. James Vince scored 102 of 95 balls and Lewis Gregory scored 77 of 69 balls. For Pakistan Shardul Thakur pick 4 wickets for 65 runs in his 9 overs.
