Rautu Ka Raaz Movie Rating: 2 Stars
Watched Rautu Ka Raaz movie on Zee5. Let’s focus on the complete details, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.
Cast: Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Rajesh Kumar, Narayani Shashtri, Vicky Dutt, Samriddhi Chandola, Atul Tiwari, Anoop Trivedi, Riya Sisodia and Pratham Rathod
Director: Anand Surapur
Release Date: 28th June 2024 on Zee5
Story: Set in the picturesque Rautu Ki Beli in Uttarakhand, the story unfolds when the warden Sangeeta (Narayani Shashtri) of Sevadham School is found dead in her room in the morning. The principal’s assistant calls the police control booth and informs them about the death.
This jolts SHO Deepak Negi (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and Sub Inspector Naresh Dimri (Rajesh Kumar) out of their slumber and forces them to investigate the murder in a quiet town where a murder hasn’t taken place in over a decade and a half. Their juniors Dinesh Pant (Vicky Dutt), Lata (Samridhi Chandola) and Tripathi (Anoop Trivedi) casually investigate and conclude that Sangeeta died naturally.
But Deepak gets suspicious and asks for a post-mortem as it says death was unnatural. His team grill the principal Vishwanath Kumai (Kailash Kandwal), assistant warden Hema (Preeti Sood) and trustee Manoj Keshri (Atul Tiwari). A lot of unexpected and shocking aspects come to the fore not just about Sangeeta but also about possible motives to murder her. Who is the murderer and will Deepak able to catch the culprit is all about this movie.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie in my free time as trailer looks good in parts and liked previous movies of the Nawazuddin Siddqui.
In the sleepy town of Rautu Ki Beli, the mysterious death of the warden at a blind school shakes the community to its core. Initially assumed to be a natural death, suspicions quickly arise that her demise may have been a planned murder. This investigation transforms the tranquil town into a hotbed of intrigue and suspicion.
Rautu Ka Raaz story is about a murder and have added characters to make it more intriguing. But the screenplay never really rises to a stage where the viewers could miss a heartbeat or two. It it gets more wholesome as you near the second half. The film introduced real-life visually impaired characters, who make blink-and-miss appearances, maintaining credibility. There’s also subtle humor infused in the narrative that adds to the fun. The climax is unpredictable. The film has every essential element that a thriller needs. However, not for a moment would you feel there’s an overdose. If you are dealing with serious subjects such as child abuse and murder, incorporating comic elements to make it less morbid and yet maintaining sensitivity is quite the task. Rest assured; movie will not disappoint. Nawazuddin Siddiqui delivers a commendable and effortless performance. He naturally fits into such a part, and he gives it the required quirk. Rajesh Kumar is lovely and deserves to be seen more, especially in such author-backed roles. Rathod and Gaba’s storylines are interestingly woven into the narrative, adding depth to the setting and context. The small-town setting, with its picturesque mountains and woods, enhances the film’s atmosphere.
On the flipside, this is a slow-burn flick. Those expecting thrills or action will be disappointed. After a point, the narrative gets complicated as too many characters get introduced and one might struggle to remember who who is. The action of Deepak in the end will raise questions. His dark past doesn’t work as audiences are now fed-up seeing cops who have a sharp mind but are disturbed due to personal reasons. Lastly, viewers are constantly told that Deepak is a weird character. However, there’s nothing bizarre about him as such. The editing is very choppy. The background score doesn’t enhance, infect reduces the impact of the film. It clearly seems done by some amateur.
Movie has some interesting moments as well as an unpredictable climax. But the script suffers due to certain loose ends and also, it’s a film devoid of thrills and action. This visual appeal, combined with Siddiqui’s stellar performance is a highlight of the film. My view on this movie Not Recommended.
