Rangbaaz Season 3 Web Series Rating: 3.5 Stars

Just watched Rangbaaz Season 3 web series on Zee5 Premium. So, let’s analyze the cast, story, release date, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this web series.

Release Date: 29th July 2022 (Zee5 Premium)
Duration: 6 Episodes/ 30 Minutes

Story: This is third installment of Rangbaaz series which revolved around real life incident of notorious Bihar politician-criminal Mohammad Shahabuddin. Series starts off with a disturbing scene in which two lovers try to end their lives then we have Harun Shah Ali Baig’s (Vineet Kumar Singh) entry who helps both to married each other.

Although 34 cases were registered against him in the police stations in twenty years, but there is no such witness in any case that the system can bring him in. Two big vicious leaders of the state’s power, Lakhan Rai (Vijay Maurya) and Mukul Kumar (Rajesh Tailang) who emerged from the politics of the JP movement at some points of time are at loggerheads over Shah Harun.

But both join hands for politics and in one case Shah Harun is arrested. What is this case, how he destroys the life of Shah Harun, it comes to the fore in the story. But in the midst of all this, the story sometimes shows glimpses of Shah Harun’s life coming in flashback and sometimes in the present.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I have watched the trailer of this series planned to watch in free time because loved the first part of the series and this one look excellent as well.

This is the third installment in ZEE5’s marquee franchise which show chronicles the rise and fall of gangster-turned-politician Harun Shah Ali Baig also known as Saheb who was both respected and despised in Bihar.

Rangbaaz Season 3 is inspired from the life and times of a real-life personality just like the two preceding seasons of the franchise and based on the notorious Bihar politician-criminal Mohammad Shahabuddin. The best part about the writing is the fact that the creators are in sync with the time they have. The screenplay isn’t overstuffed with characters that they won’t be able to give redemption or a conclusion to. There are limited phases with edged-out storylines that do find completion and do not feel tasteless. It’s an achievement in the world with the influx of half-baked content. The series isn’t fast paced; rather it takes its own sweet time to present the story to the viewers, but the events in the protagonist’s life keep you hooked for the most part. This is not a drama suitable for fans of violence as it is more about planning and more planning minus the action.

The show also takes some exhausted paths and looks clichéd at times. I hope the angle where two friends are divided by ideology and dragged to an extent where one has to kill another was explored more. The reasonably short runtime helps in keeping the narrative crisp, pacy and engaging. The storytelling is embellished with relentless action and the plot moves at a fast clip. Several draggy bits at different times in the narrative also take some of the sheen off the otherwise exemplary storytelling.

Overall, it is an honest effort to create a three-dimensional product with good actors and equally supportive plot. Series is a good one-time watch for fans of crime dramas. If you enjoyed the first two seasons of Rangbaaz then don’t miss this one despite few flaws. My View on this web-series Highly Recommended
