Ramyug Web Series Rating: 2 stars

Just watched Ramyug web series on MX Player. So let’s analyze the cast, release date, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this web series.

Cast: Diganth Manchale, Akkshay Dogra, Aishwarya Ojha, Kabir Duhan Singh, Vivan Bhatena, Navdeep Pallapolu, Anish John Kokken, Shishir Mohan Sharma, Jatin Sial, Shweta Gulati, Suparna Marwah, Mamta Verma, Tisca Chopra, Dalip Tahil, Anup Soni and Vikram Singh Chauhan
Director: Kunal Kohli
Release Date: 6th May 2021 (On MX Player)
Duration: 8 Episodes/ 35 Minutes

Story: Rama (Dignanth Manchale) prince of Ayodhya won the hand of the beautiful princess Sita (Aishwarya Ojha) but was exiled with her and his brother Laksmana (Akkshay Dogra) for 14 years through the plotting of his stepmother Kaikeyi (Tisca Chopra).

In the forest Sita was abducted by Ravana (Kabir Duhan Singh) and Rama with the help of Son of Vayu, Hanuman (Vivan Bhatena), gathered an army of monkeys and bears to search for her. The allies attacked Lanka, killed Ravana, and rescued Sita. After the couple’s triumphant return to Ayodhya, Rama’s righteous rule (Ram-raj) inaugurated a golden age for all mankind.

The epic’s poetic stature and marvelous story means that the story of Rama has been constantly retold by some of India’s greatest writers both in Sanskrit and regional languages. It is the latest visual interpretation of this ancient text, seeks to bring modern technology in a never before used manner to narrate the epic.

Positives
1. Excellent performances
2. Story
3. Background music
4. Dialogues

Negatives
1. Direction
2. Climax
3. Length
4. SCreenplay

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I watched the trailer planned to watch this series first day because for the first time I was excited to watch Ramayan in 4 hours and it is first series as well.

Kunal Kohli’s ‘Ramyug’ could be termed as a crash course in understanding values, etc. depicted in Ramayan. The crux of Ramyug is well explained in the conversation between Ram and Raavan which means that every yug (era) will have Raavan and a Ram to beat the Raavan. Don’t miss the series for this and many more contemporary dialogues. Kunal Kohli’s modern version of the Ramayan is appealing due to its locations, VFX and technical finesse. But the writing could have been a lot better. My view on this web series (Time Pass)
