Sri Lanka scored 146/5 in their 20 overs. A high-quality innings from the captain where he had to nudge around initially and then hit top gear to race around. But, safe to say Sri Lanka at least 30 runs short of a par score. The top four played rash shots in the name of intent, but Siraj and Avesh Khan India’s new pair were outstanding with the new ball. In no time the visitors were 29/4. Chandimal hung around for a while, but Shanaka took matters on his own and stitched an unbeaten 86-run stand with Karunaratne. And even in that stand, Shanaka was the aggressor because Karunaratne hardly timed a ball. Skipper Dasun Shanaka scored 74* of 38 balls and Dinesh Chandimal scored 22 of 27 balls. For Team India Avesh Khan pick 2 wickets for 23 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Team India chased down the target successfully by scoring 148/4 in 16.5 overs and won the game by 6 wickets. Been another comprehensive win. The total set by Sri Lanka was nowhere near enough. Shanaka gave another glimpse into his hitting ability as he smashed 74 off 38 balls, but that came in a team total of 146/5 as his teammates put in another lacklustre display with the bat. The target never troubled India, despite Chameera extending his domination over Rohit in this format, getting him for the sixth time in 30 balls. Iyer, finishing an incredible series for him with his third consecutive fifty without getting dismissed, took command after coming in at three. And this was too good a pitch to keep the runs down once he got in. Shreyas Iyer scored 73* of 45 balls and Ravindra Jadeja scored 22* of 15 balls. For Sri Lanka Lahiru Kumara pick 2 wickets for 39 runs in his 3.5 overs.
