Team India scored 179/5 runs in their 20 overs after batting first. South Africa have pulled it back nicely towards the back end. Just 51 runs off the last 7 overs and India will feel they’re 15-20 runs short. Ruturaj Gaikwad got the home team off to flier when he took on Nortje in the fifth over of the powerplay with 5 back-to-back boundaries and set the platform. Ishan Kishan played second fiddle to his partner but both batters got out soon after reaching their respective fifties. The momentum was lost when Shreyas and Ishan were dismissed in successive overs, Hardik tried his best and ensured India at least got the target to 180-mark. With the kind of chasing form South Africa are in, they must be fancying this total and looking to make it 3-0. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 57 runs of 35 balls and Ishan Kishan scored 54 runs of 35 balls. For South Africa, Dwaine Pretorius pick 2 wickets for 29 runs in his 4 overs quota.

South Africa unable to chase the target and bowled out for 131 in 19.1 overs and lost the game by 48 runs. Comprehensive win for India and they stay alive in the series. Asked to bat for the third time in as many games, their openers got their team off to a flier with both of them notching up fifties. However, the visitors pulled it back in the second half of the innings to restrict India to 179. In reply, South Africa never really got going. The two Patels accounted for the South African openers inside the powerplay. Chahal, who conceded 49 runs off his four overs in the previous game, roared back in style. He removed van der Dussen and Pretorius off successive overs which put the tourists on the back foot. Harshal Patel deceived Miller with a slower one and SA’s hopes were pinned on Heinrich Klaasen. Chahal ensured that there was no heroics from the wicketkeeper-batter tonight as the leg-spinner provided the killer blow in his final over to finish with impressive figures of 3/20. Bhuvi was at his miserly best and Harshal Patel ended up with a four-fer. All in all, it was a very good bowling performance from the hosts on a slow-ish surface. Heinrich Klaasen scored 29 runs of 23 balls and Reeza Hendricks score 23 runs of 20 balls. For Team India, Harshal Patel pick 4 wickets for 25 runs in 3.1 overs.
#TeamIndia win the 3rd T20I by 48 runs and keep the series alive.
