Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I have watched the trailer of this series planned to watch on release day because watched the 1st season and loved it. Also I am big fan of TVF original series.

Panchayat is a comedy-drama, which captures the journey of an engineering graduate Abhishek, who for lack of a better job option joins as secretary of a panchayat office in a remote village of Uttar Pradesh. Stuck between crazy villagers & a difficult village lifestyle Abhishek starts his job with the sole motivation of getting out of there as soon as possible, for which he even prepares for CAT.

If season one of Panchayat was about Abhishek’s journey, season 2 is all about Phulera, its politics and the people. Bringing an authentic rendition of a small-town drama, writer Chandan Kumar and director Deepak Kumar Mishra keep their second innings also real and rooted. From dialogues and production setup, Panchayat’s talented crew hits the right note with their splendid job. It is well established by now that Abhishek and his core group have developed a strong bond. Throughout the eight episodes we often get to see how they tackle issues as one unit. It has has all the aspects of a great family entertainment, whether it’s humor, drama, or sentiments. The latest web series may feel a touch stretched in the middle, but it picks up the pace with its delightfully hilarious jabs every time.

The the second season begins exactly where the first one ended. Nothing much has changed. And we’re used to that because Phulera is full of people who aren’t too accepting of change and neither do they have any regard for someone, who can bring in the change. The delightful cast bring their A-game to the screen and once more dish out impressive performances. Needless to say, Casting Bay’s work is on point as not one character feels out of place. It doesn’t try hard to be comedic or slapstick, it doesn’t try to change the world of patriarchy, societal ills like dowry, or rally for women empowerment. It just exists in a simple no-frills rural life set in the heartland of India. It’s the kind of escapism we need from the grimness of life and that makes it watchable, all over again. My View on this web-series Highly Recommended.
