Netflix India announced list of their upcoming movies at Films Day 2022 event. Today as part of its new campaign Har Din Filmy, Netflix launched multiple projects across genres. From sharing behind-the-scenes to posters to teasers, the streaming platform shared glimpses from these forthcoming films on Instagram to give the audience a brief of what they can expect from these movies.

Here are the list of movies announced as part of event today in the sequence:

1. the Archies:
The first title amongst these announcements is Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti’s “The Archies” where the former was seen in conversation with John Goldwater, the CEO of Archie Comics. They talk about Archies origin and how the Indian adaptation is set in the Anglo-Indian community of India in the 1960s in a magical fictional hill station town. They also tell how the film is based on the theme of love, friendship,, conflict and community and how music plays a big part in the film. Movie stars Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Yuvraj Menda, Agastya Nanda and Vedang Raina in key roles.

2. Monica, O My Darling:
Directed by Vasan Bala, Netflix unveiled an exciting sneak peek of its upcoming crime-drama thriller Monica, O My Darling by sharing photographs of actors who play a pivotal role in this exciting and mysterious satire-laced crime thriller. The film features an ensemble cast including Rajkummar Rao, Huma S Qureshi, Radhika Apte, Sikandar Kher, Bagavathi Perumal, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Sukant Goel, and Zayn Marie Khan. It revolves around a young man desperately tries to make it big with some unlikely allies and a dastardly diabolical plan to pull off the perfect murder.

3. Plan A Plan B
Netflix launched the teaser of this romantic comedy, Plan A Plan B which gives us a glimpse into two incompatible worlds, one of a match-maker and one of a divorce attorney. It follows the story of a matchmaker Nirali Vora (Tamannaah Bhatia) who believes marriage is for everyone, except herself and Kaustubh Chougule (Riteish Deshmukh) a successful divorce lawyer with a secret. The film is all about what happens when they cross paths and these opposites fall in love. Where will their love story lead them or will their ideologies come in way? Written by Rajat Arora and directed by Shashanka Ghosh, ‘Plan A, Plan B’ is produced by India Stories Media & Entertainment and Funk Your Blues Entertainment. ‘Plan A, Plan B’ will premiere exclusively on Netflix on 30th September, 2022.

4. Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga
Netflix announced its upcoming suspense thriller Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga and revealed an intriguing behind-the-scenes scoop that gives the viewers a glimpse of what went behind the making of the film. The suspense thriller is produced by Maddock Films, Dinesh Vijan, and Amar Kaushik, helmed by Ajay Singh, and stars Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal.

5. Khufiya
Netflix unveiled the first look of its upcoming spy drama Khufiya, written and directed by the legendary Vishal Bhardwaj. The first look video reveals an exclusive montage of scenes from the film, giving the first glimpse of its intense, gripping characters. Based on the novel ‘Escape to Nowhere’ written by ex-Chief of Counter Espionage Unit of R&AW, Amar Bhushan, the film takes you on a journey of an R&AW operative-Krishna Mehra, who is assigned a very crucial mission which leaves her juggling between her dual identity as a spy and a lover. It stars Tabu, Ali Fazal, Ashish Vidyarthi, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Azmeri Haque Badhon in pivotal roles.

6. Kathal
Netflix dropped the motion poster of its much-anticipated satire Kathal which also stars Anant Joshi, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Neha Saraf along with Sanya Malhotra. The film is a dramedy, set in a small town and centers around a young police officer, Mahima, played by Sanya Malhotra who is adamant to solve a bizarre case of missing jackfruit (kathal) belonging to a local politician. It is the directorial debut of Yashowardhan Mishra, who wrote the film along with the veteran, award-winning writer Ashok Mishra.

7. Chakda Xpress
Netflix then takes you behind the scenes of Anushka Sharma’s ‘Chakda ‘Xpress’ where director Prosit Roy talks about Jhulan Goswami’s journey from the small town of Chakda to World Cup finals. The video shows Anushka bringing to screens the raw energy of Jhulan while trying tobe as honest as possible with the story.

8. Qala
Netflix then offers a sneak peak into ‘Qala’ that marks Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan’s acting debut is their next project with the streaming giant. As per director Anvitaa Dutt,‘Qala’ is a beautiful, heart-breaking story about a daughter who craves her mother’s love. In addition to Babil, the film stars Tripti Dimri, Swastika Mukherjee, Amit Sial and Samir Kochhar among others.

Apart from that Netflix also shared the glimpse of Diljit Dosanjh starrer “Yogi” which is all set to premiere from 16th September 2022. It also highlights glimpse of Alia Bhatt recent released “Darlings” which become blockbuster and trending since its release.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: After the announcement of Amazon Prime Video finally Netflix announced the list of their upcoming movies releasing this year. Although list is very small as I was expecting some more movies and web-series. Nonetheless we have different genres to explore.

I am eagerly waiting for Yogi, Khufiya, The Archies and Chadka Xpress among all. What movie you are waiting for.
