Nail Polish Movie Review: Compelling murder mystery with fresh story with brilliant performances
Nail Polish Movie Rating: 3 stars
Just watched Nail Polish movie on Zee5 Premium. So let’s analyze the cast, release date, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.
Cast: Arjun Rampal, Manav Kaul, Anand Tiwari, Rajit Kapur, Madhoo Shah, Samreen Kaur and Sameer Dharmadhikari
Director: Bugs Bhargava Krishna
Release Date: 1st Jan 2021 on Zee5 Premium
Story: Lucknow DCP Sunil Sachdev (Sameer Dharmadhikari), who stumbles upon evidence of migrant worker’s kids being abducted and murdered with their bodies being set to fire. This leads him to an unexpected suspect is former Army officer Veer Singh (Manav Kaul) who worked as an undercover spy. Post-retirement, he continues to live a gentleman’s life with a great reputation working as a coach in a sports academy and also a good friend of DCP.
Siddharth Jaisingh aka Sid (Arjun Rampal) who is a high-profile defense lawyer agrees to fight this case as he is promised a Rajya Sabha seat consequent to his winning Veer’s case. And the state hires public prosecutor Amit Kumar (Anand Tiwari) to make sure Veer is proven guilty.
Judge Bhusan (Rajit Kapur) presides, keeping an open mind. Meanwhile in jail Veer was beaten by goons and he was changed completely after that incident. Is Veer innocent, or a ruthless killer? you will get the answer once you this film.
The fast-paced plot is padded with interesting little touches, with the characters being shown in their professional and personal garb. Jaisingh likes wearing black satin at home, and doesn’t seem to care for the women he is close to. Amit Kumar has a cosy home life, but has to take the help of an inhaler to get his breath back. Bhushan has a wife (Madhoo) who splits her affection between him and alcohol. And Veer’s dark past, unravelling swiftly, appears to have a beautiful woman in it.
Positives
1. Arjun Rampal and supporting cast with their brilliant performances
2. Direction
3. Story
4. Climax
Negatives
1. Music
2. Bit dragged and slow at some point.
3. Few unexplained plots
Durgesh Tiwary’s View : > When I watched the trailer was very impressed for it’s intriguing and captivating theme and always planned to watch this movie.
Movie starts on fascinating note and keep me intrigued throughout first half and but it bored me in middle of this film due to it was bit slow and dragged and there was some unexplained plots like why Madhoo was alcoholic and why Arjun Rampal hates his father but still climax will shock you that I have never seen any Bollywood movie.
All said, ‘Nail Polish’ is a compelling thriller which can be watched for its story and most importantly the outstanding performances. My View on this movie Recommended !!
