Story: Kamala (Iman Vellani) and her mother (Zenobia Shroff) head to her hometown in Karachi, where she spends time with her cousins exploring the city and reconnecting with her grandmother Sana (Samina Ahmad). She later reveals to Kamala that the bangle is trying to convey a message through the vision of the train.

Kamala finds her way to the train station and encounters Kareem/Kimo (Aramis Knight). After a brief skirmish, he discovers she isn’t a Clandestine, so he leads her to a hideout to meet Waleed (Farhan Akthar) of the Red Daggers. Waleed tells her about the hidden dimension where the Clandestines come from and the Veil of Noor that separates their worlds.

The apprehended Clandestines escape from the Department of Damage Control (DODC) prison and make their way to the hideout in Karachi but Najma (Nimra Bucha) abandons Kamran (Rish Shah) for helping Kamala. Kamala begins training with the Red Daggers to master her powers, but they are interrupted by the Clandestines.

In the following clash, Waleed is seemingly killed by Najma who also strikes Kamala’s bangle. This causes a rift, and Kamala appears to travel back in time to the partition.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I watched the trailer planned to watch the each episodes on its premiere date because of new superhero story and its connection to Captain Marvel next movie which will release in 2023.

A 16-year-old Pakistani-American high school student from Jersey City who is an aspiring artist and avid gamer, and writes superhero fan fiction about heroes such as Captain Marvel. Khan gains the ability to harness cosmic energy and create constructs from a magical bangle.

Expectations were understandably high with this episode especially with Farhan Akhtar’s highly anticipated appearance. But, while there are ample explorations of Karachi and South Asian culture, the episode takes a while to give us much-needed backstory to Kamala’s heritage and add to the mythology of the Djinns and Clandestines. Moreover, despite being filled with ample emotional weight, the focus on the relationship between Kamala’s mother and grandmother doesn’t lend much to the bigger narrative just yet. The action itself is plucky but somewhat stereotypical of Bollywood/ Lollywood fight scenes, complete with a chase sequence that challenges reason, even within the context of a superhero show.

So far, the series has maintained a good balance between exploring Kamala’s family history & desi culture and teasing this new character’s larger implications in MCU’s Phase Four. However, past the midway point, there isn’t much clarity on where the series is headed. With two more episodes left in the tank, a lot is riding on them to form a more decisive opinion of Ms Marvel’s overall significance in the MCU. My view on this series Recommended
