Moon Knight Episode 3 Web Series Rating: 3 Stars

Just watched Moon Knight web series 3rd episode on Disney Plus Hotstar. So let’s analyze the cast, release date, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this web series.

Cast: Oscar Isaac, May Calamawy, Karim El-Hakim, F. Murray Abraham and Ethan Hawke
Director: Mohamed Diab
Release Date:13th April 2022 3rd Episode (Disney Plus Hotstar)
Duration: 6 Episodes/ 40 Minutes

Story: New Episodes begins with Arthur (Ethan Hawke) leading a large caravan of people into Egypt. Using the scarab, he gets a fix on Ammit’s tomb and doubles his efforts to get there before Steven (Oscar Isaac).

After they fail to obtain the information they require, Khonshu (F. Murray Abraham) decides to take a risk and causes a solar eclipse to call for a council of the other Egyptian gods and their avatars, who summon Spector to a chamber inside the Great Pyramid of Giza. Khonshu and Spector convince the gods to put Harrow on trial by informing them of his plan to free Ammit, but Harrow denies their claims when he is summoned and persuades the gods that Khonshu is lying by claiming that he has been mistreating Spector.

The gods allow Arthur to leave and warn Khonshu that they will imprison him in stone if he abuses his powers again. Spector then encounters Layla (May Calamawy) who offers to help him and takes him to meet with Anton Mogart (Gaspard Ulliel) who is an old friend of hers who owns a sarcophagus which can help them locate Ammit’s tomb.

However, the meeting goes badly when Harrow arrives and destroys the sarcophagus, forcing Spector and Layla to fight off Mogart’s men and escape into the desert. Grant is able to assemble a set of fragments from the sarcophagus into an ancient star map, but the map is two thousand years out of date. Khonshu uses his powers to briefly turn back the night sky to the way it looked then, allowing Grant and Layla to find the location of Ammit’s tomb. However, Khonshu is then imprisoned by the other gods after asking Grant and Spector to free him.

Positives
1. Excellent Performances
2. Story
3. Direction

Negatives
1. Length
2. Stretched
3. Screenplay
4. Climax

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I have watched the trailer of this series planned to watch on premiere day because it is presented by Marvel and always liked superhero films.

The third episode of the Moon Knight is not as dazzling as compared to previous episodes. While the initial gimmick in episode 1 & 2 of switching away from the action and jumping in time is unique, this has now been overused to the point that it loses its effectiveness. We also know very little about Layla which will hopefully be resolved further on down the line. After some required build-up, the show heads into the second half of the season by firmly building on the mystique in another absorbing yet entertaining episode. The mid-point of this series puts more pieces together by bringing up questions about Marc’s role in Layla’s past and giving us more insight into Harrow’s agenda.

Moon Knight continues to be delightfully offbeat and constantly expands its layered characters to keep us captivated even in its quieter moments. Overall, For now though, it delivers an effective and enjoyable episode, despite those gripes, but we’re still light on characterization for the supporting characters and our main antagonist, Arthur. Hopefully the second half of this show can kick things into high gear. My View on this web-series Recommended.
