Moon Knight Episode 1 Web Series Rating: 3.5 Stars
Just watched Moon Knight web series 2nd episode on Disney Plus Hotstar. So let’s analyze the cast, release date, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this web series.
Cast: Oscar Isaac, May Calamawy, Karim El-Hakim, F. Murray Abraham, and Ethan Hawke
Director: Mohamed Diab
Release Date:6th April 2022 2nd Episode (Disney Plus Hotstar)
Duration: 6 Episodes/ 40 Minutes
Story: Steven (Oscar Isaac) has been asked to leave his job courtesy the mayhem at the museum the night before events which dominated the latter half of the pilot. Grant uses the keycard to find a storage facility containing the scarab. Grant’s “reflection” reveals that he is Marc Spector, another identity living in Grant’s body, an American mercenary, and the current Avatar of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Spector tries to convince Grant to let him resume control of their body, but Grant refuses and flees.
He is confronted by Layla (May Calamawy) Spector’s wife who was unaware of Grant’s existence, before being arrested by police officers working for Harrow (Ethan Hawke). Harrow reveals that he was Khonshu’s previous Avatar until he chose to follow Ammit instead and that he seeks the scarab to find her tomb and resurrect her so that she can purge humanity of evil. Layla rescues Grant, but Harrow summons another jackal monster to pursue them.
Grant manages to summon a magical suit similar to Spector’s and fights the jackal, but is overpowered and eventually allows Spector to take control. Spector kills the jackal but loses the scarab to Harrow. Khonshu angrily confronts Spector who promises to find Ammit’s tomb before Harrow does. Khonshu threatens to claim Layla as his next Avatar should Spector fail before sending him to Egypt, Grant now helplessly trapped within his own mind.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I have watched the trailer of this series planned to watch on premiere day because it is presented by Marvel and always liked superhero films.
Episode two reveals the conflict and what is the goal given to Marc by Khonshu who is also in a way master of some evil plans. This episode also introduces us to Marc’s wife, Layla who is seen aiding Steven aka Marc in his quest to serve the banished Egyptian god of moon Khonshu.
The second episode of the Moon Knight is not as dazzling as first, when it should have been the other way round. First is where you set your base, and in a six-episode series, the show should move with certainty and self-assurance, if not with speed. But all is not lost, because there are good things about this second chapter in the Moon Knight world. It also gets in the jumping bit where we see Isaac’s character leap across building as his movements take the shape of a crescent moon. A stunning visual. Now all Moon Knight needs is a little more spice to help push things forward more convincingly.
The action should have been more fleshed out and better. Of course Isaac mouthing those funny line while he is in a combat are exciting, but the action doesn’t compliment it. And considering that a major part of the episode is combat, it does pull down the bar. Overall, series is constant in exciting and entertaining us. The show has a lot to achieve yet and one can only see good things from here on. My View on this web-series Recommended.
