Mission Impossible 7 Movie Rating: 3.5 Stars

Just watched Mission Impossible 7 movie in Cinemas. Let’s focus on the complete details, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.

Director: Christopher McQuarrie
Release Date: 12th July 2023 in Cinemas

Story: Movie revolves around IMF agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) who is assigned the task of retrieving half of a key from his ally Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson). He learns about Entity, a dangerous rogue AI system, can be possibly unlocked by two sets of keys and decides to find the second half of the key to gain control over it.

His job is to retrieve those keys before they fall into the wrong hands. Government and major powers are racing both to prevent sabotage and to gain control of the Entity. As always, he’s joined in the mission by Benji (Simon Pegg) and Luther (Ving Rhames). Community agents and Gabriel (Esai Morales), an Entity liaison officer are also after the key.

During his mission to find the second half of key Ethan loses his half-key to professional burglar Grace (Hayley Atwell). Grace gives the half-key to arms dealer Alanna Mitsopolis (Vanessa Kirby) in Venice. Through this, Ethan hopes to find the buyer of the complete key and the purpose it is going to be used for. By a turn of events, Grace collaborates with Ethan.

They decide to board the Innsbruck-bound train where Alanna is supposed to meet the buyer. Gabriel is also on the train with subordinate Paris (Pom Klementieff). Besides, former IMF director Eugene Kittridge (Henry Czerny) and Director of National Intelligence Denlinger (Cary Elwes) are also on the same train. How all are connected with this key and Who will get the key and how is all about this film.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie on release day in cinemas as watched all previous films of this franchise and big fan of Tom Cruise.

Ethan Hunt and the IMF team must track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity if it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than the mission not even the lives of those he cares about most.

Mission Impossible 7 story with plenty of twists and turns, friendships and betrayals, drama and action. The first half has one very lengthy action sequence which seems to be never-ending, but the second half moves at a very fast pace and, therefore, keeps the audience engrossed. Although the climax like the rest of the film lacks novelty. The chase sequence in the first half and the train scene in the latter half are the main highlights of the film and will undoubtedly leave you in awe. In this year of adrenaline-driven action films, it has become increasingly hard to distinguish one from the other, but Cruise ensures he stands out from the rest. The fact that this franchise still has enough life left in it after seven films without feeling too exhaustive says a great deal about Cruise and McQuarrie’s passionate dedication to action-based blockbusters.

On the flipside story is great but it not enough information is provided about the AI system, Entity. Offering a glimpse of Entity at the end of Part One would have helped viewers understand it better. The screenplay in the second half is a bit sluggish. However, it doesn’t significantly impact the film’s flow, thanks to the action-packed sequences. Compared to the first half, the second half is slower at some places. Gabriel could have been portrayed as more powerful. Adding a few more scenes for him might have made the character more interesting. Also, a few scenes in the middle of the second half don’t have the desired impact.

Overall, movie is an enthralling spy action thriller that ranks among the best films in the franchise. Tom Cruise and his impressive action stunts are the movie’s biggest strengths. Despite a few scenes in the second half that may look tedious and disrupt the flow this one must watch for action and franchise lovers. My view on this movie Highly Recommended.
