South Africa scored 106/8 runs in 20 overs after batting first. They were blown away in the first 15 balls. Chahar and Arshdeep were on fire as they ripped out the top order and reduced the visitors to 9/5 in 2.3 overs. Yes, there is a green tinge to the surface but most batters were defeated by the movement in the air. Markram was the only recognised batter to have some sort of control against the moving ball but he too perished in Harshal‘s first over. Parnell held one end up and Maharaj‘s 41 was the main reason the score crossed the 100-mark. The surface is challenging but surely India would back themselves to chase this down. Keshav Maharaj scored 41 runs of 35 balls and Aiden Markram scored 25 runs of 24 balls. For Team India, Arshdeep Singh picks 3 wickets for 32 runs in his 4 overs quota.
Innings Break!#TeamIndia bowlers put on a show here in the 1st T20I as they restrict South Africa to a total of 106/8 on the board.

Team India chase the target by scoring 110/2 in 16.4 overs and won the game by 8 wickets. A dominant win in the end for India. When you saw the pitch before the toss, you knew the new ball would cause damage but not many expected 9/5 inside 3 overs. Arshdeep and Chahar killed the game right there by swinging the ball both ways. Lower-order stretched the total past 100, but it was always going to be easy for India despite all the help in the wicket for the pacers. It’s normal to lose some top-order wickets early in such conditions but KL hung in there, while SKY continued to entertain us in his own audacious yet gracious style. The pick up shot he attempted off Nortje on arrival after the bowler thudded the glove and had just dismissed the inform Virat Kohli told us what Surya is all about. KL Rahul scored 51* of 56 balls and Suryakumar Yadav scored 50* runs of 33 balls. For South Africa, Rabada & Nortje picks 1 wicket each.
#TeamIndia finish things off in style! π π
