Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I watched the trailer planned to watch in my free time as it looks interesting and engaging. Makers of this show are part of some worthy series as well.

This British shows adapted for India relocates the plot to a sleepy village in Punjab, where a veteran doctor and his three grown-up children must deal with the repercussions of the accidental death of the former’s ailing wife.

Masoom sets a tone for intrigue and suspense right from the start. From the background music that spells uncertainty to the misty hues of Punjab, the series draws you in with its atmospheric build. As Sana snoops around, despite the resistance from the rest of her family, it is obvious that they are hiding something. Family equations and skirmishes come to the fore, forming a perfect setting for a psychological thriller. The characters are grey and nothing is as it seems. And the series manages to build intrigue for most part as various sub-plots intermingle. But the effective build-up is squandered as the narrative is unable to sustain it till the end.

The show uses a slow burn style, which makes it a delightful watch. The mystery surrounding the Kapoors and Sana’s past unravel slowly, keeping the viewers hooked. The twists are unexpected, which means the writers have done their job. But what truly makes the show different is the approach to the mystery is not as intense. Even though it remains measured and subtle for most parts, in the emotional scenes, the show has the characters talk more than required. But regardless of that end, series is a simple story that has been made quite well and performed even better. The slow-burn thriller is equal parts emotional and equal parts riveting, and will keep the viewer engaged for sure. My view on this series Recommended.
