Story: Movie is a biopic of Sandeep Unnikrishnan, an NSG Major who valiantly fought the Pakistani terrorists at Hotel Taj Mahal Palace in Bombay on the fateful evening of 26th November, 2008 when a series of bomb blasts in the metropolis shook the very foundation of the country. Major Unnikrishnan laid down his life battling the dreaded terrorists who wreaked havoc on the city of Bombay.

In 1995, Sandeep Unnikrishnan (Adivi Sesh) resides in Bengaluru with his father K. Unnikrishnan (Prakash Raj), his mother Dhanalakshmi Unnikrishnan (Revathy) and sister Sandhya. He has already made plan to join the defence forces. He gets rejected in the Navy and then tries to enlist in the Army. He succeeds and turns out to be a brave as well as a kind soldier. He marries his childhood sweetheart Isha (Saiee M Manjrekar).

In 2008, Sandeep has been posted in Manesar as a trainer of the 51 Special Action Group of National Security Guard (NSG). He’s so dedicated to his work that he’s unable to give time to Isha. On November 26, 2008 he planned to meet Isha but same day Mumbai gets rocked by terrorist attacks so he cancelled his tickets.

He insisted his commander Shera (Murali Sharma) to allow him for the mission since he is trainer and flies with his regiment to Mumbai and heads to the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel to rescue the citizens and eliminate the terrorists. What happen next is all about this movie.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie on release day as it is based on true story of 26/11 hero late Sandeep Unnikrishnan.

Based on the life of real-life Hero Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, this movie aims to show how this valiant soldier saved the lives of numerous hostages before being martyred by the terrorists who wreaked havoc in the Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai, India on the 26th of November, 2008.

While the first half of the drama is devoted to Sandeep’s childhood and growing up years as also his romantic life, the latter half concentrates on the exemplary courage shown by him in giving a tough fight to the terrorists at Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. Some of the scenes in the post-interval portion bring the audience to the edge of their seats, so palpable are the excitement, tension and thrill. Even in that portion, Sandeep’s utmost concern for the lives of the hostages is evident in every move of his. Direction is also excellent and his narrative style is fantastic and what he offers is a wholesome and inspirational entertainer for the entire family.

Adivi Sesh has written a wonderful story and screenplay to capture the essence of Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s life and give the audience a glimpse of his daredevilry and unfailing spirit of service to mankind. The first half is quite light till the terrorists strike a little before interval. The film ends on a very emotional note, though the end speech by Prakash Raj could have been more impactful. Overall, movie is a wonderfully made film with some excellent performances. This one deserves to be watched on the big screen, you won’t regret it. My view on this movie Highly Recommended
