Luv Ki Arrange Marriage Review: Underwhelming romantic drama with few worthy moments
Luv Ki Arrange Marriage Movie Rating: 1.5 Stars
Watched Luv Ki Arrange Marriage movie on Zee5. Let’s focus on the complete details, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.
Cast: Sunny Singh, Avneet Kaur, Annu Kapoor, Supriya Pathak and Rajpal Yadav
Director: Ishrat R. Khan
Release Date: 14th June 2024 on Zee5 Premium
Story: Set in Orchha, Madhya Prades, movie revolves around Luv (Sunny Singh) lives with his father Prem Kumar (Annu Kapoor) who is the neighborhood Casanova. His father sister her husband Mishra Ji (Mushtaq Khan) asked them to go to Bhopal to see a potential bride for him.
Ishika (Avneet Kaur) is the daughter of Supriya (Supriya Pathak) who is a bidi-smoking garage owner. She is rude to Luv and rejects him. Luv is rude right back and they storm out. But riots break out in the city, and they are forced to take shelter in Supriya’s home, where other random characters including a wandering thief (Paritosh Tripathi) and an alcoholic grandfather (Sudhir Pandey) hang around.
Supriya has a suitor Pyare (Rajpal Yadav) who is unable to express his love, and is friend zoned. Luv and Ishika inevitably fall in love only to find that Prem and Supriya plan to marry. As the story unfolds, the question emerges as to whether Luv will be willing to sacrifice his own love story for the sake of his father’s newfound romance. The narrative progresses as it explores which couple will ultimately have a more triumphant and enduring love story.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie in my free time as trailer looks good in parts only and loved actor past few films.
Set in a small city, with its own quirks, the film highlights that love is ageless and that the boundaries between romance and family can blur in the most delightful yet chaotic ways.
Luv Ka Arrange Marriage delves into the complexities of modern relationships juxtaposed with traditional values. The on-screen chemistry between Sunny Singh and Avneet Kaur is one of the strong points. The film’s humour, derived from everyday situations and cultural quirks will resonate with the audience. The performances by the supporting actors add layers to the story. The film’s exploration of arranged marriages in a modern context is both timely and relevant, providing insightful commentary on evolving societal norms.
It is a movie that is so simple-minded and one-directional that there is not much to talk about. You watch this movie because you want to waste some time and then forget about it the moment that it is over. Sure, you might chuckle once or twice but that’s about it – there’s not much here that will have an impact on you. The problem with these movies is that they don’t take themselves seriously, to the point that there is nothing impactful or moving. The storyline is convenient and there are hardly any plot twists, relying more on slapstick action and loud, over-the-top sequences that create something that is truly funny or moving in any way. You don’t care about the characters or the story because there is honestly nothing to care about. The simplistic storyline is forgettable the moment that it is introduced because you know what is about to happen and even then, it is translated on screen in the most forgettable way possible.
The storyline follows a somewhat predictable trajectory, with few surprises or twists. Some characters, particularly in the supporting cast, could have been more fully developed to add depth to the narrative. Certain portions of the film, especially in the second half, feel slightly dragged, affecting the overall momentum. My view on this movie Not Recommended.
