As expected Limited over series between India and England postponed until early 2021 as confirmed by both BCCI and ECB after a meeting. It was inevitable decision as IPL is scheduled to play between 19 September to 10 November 2020 in UAE.
England were originally scheduled to tour Indian and play 3 T20’s and 3 ODI’s in coming September and return back again to India for 5 match test series from late January 2021 to Late March 2021.
ECB’s Chief Executive Officer, Tom Harrison said that International cricket between India and England is a highlight of the cricketing calendar and we look forward to working with the BCCI to firm-up the schedules for these eagerly anticipated tours as soon as possible.
BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah said that India-England series is one of the most anticipated contests in world cricket. The two teams compete hard on the field and provide some riveting moments. I am pleased with the way BCCI and ECB have managed the situation. The rescheduled tour is also being redesigned in a way to accommodate both red and white-ball format and will now be a comprehensive one.
Now two boards are planning to convert 5-test series to a complete format tour in which England can play T20’s and ODI’s along with test series in the given time late January 2021 to Late March 2021.
If it happens it will be great news for Indian cricket fans as they can enjoy cricket back to back after missing it from almost 6 months. 2 complete series and IPL is certain to happen from September to March and again in summer India are scheduled to tour England.

1. India Tour of Australia ( Set to play 4 tests and 3 ODI’s- Early December to Late January)
2. England Tour Of India (Set to play 5 tests with T20’s and ODI’s- Late January to Late March)
3. India Tour Of England (Summer 2021)
We can expect few more series next year once Covid-19 pandemic over but being a cricket fan I am very excited for IPL and other important series.
