Lahore Confidential Movie Review: Never expected such a poor espionage thriller from director Kunal Kohli

Just watched Lahore Confidential movie on Zee5 Premium. So let’s analyze the cast, release date, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.

Story: This is 2nd movie of this spy thriller franchise after “London Confidential“. Movie revolves around an emotional Indian woman Ananya (Richa Chadda) who has a simple desk job in Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW). She was sent to Pakistan by RAW chief Rajiv (Khalid Siddiqui) to find terrorist mastermind Wasim Ahmed Khan who is working on a plan to carry out a bloody explosion in India.
There she meets another R@AW field agent Yukti (Karishma Tanna) and a well-connected man in Lahore Rauf Ahmed Kazmi (Arunoday Singh) who organizes mushairas (Urdu poetry social gatherings) and cultural events. Their love for Urdu literature brings them together and the two unaware of each other’s identity fall for each other. But what happens when Ananya and Rauf discover the truth about one another?

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : > When I watched the trailer it looks very interesting due to espionage thriller story and director Kunal Kohli who has directed some beautiful movies in past including Aamir Khan and Kajol starrer “Fanaa”.
Movie start on fascinating note and it keep me engage for first 10-15 minutes with a promise of chaos between the agents across borders but nothing there after that to keep you interest in this movie and will make you feel boredom. The plotline juggles between the two genres—romantic and espionage—that doesn’t contribute enough to the development of the story as none of the angles have been explored completely.
Overall this is poorest spy thriller movie I have ever seen. There is some good Urdu dialogues and Karishma Tanna acting is good for me apart from that nothing else in this movie to watch out for. The acting is average, the screenplay is bad and the script and plot is at an all-time low. My View on this movie Not Recommended!!
