Story: Season 3 begins where the second season had ended. The students Vaibhav Pandey (Mayur More) Balmukund Meena (Ranjan Raj), Uday Gupta (Alam Khan) and Vartika Ratawal (Revathi Pillai) are now in the final leg of their IIT preparation. The students are leaving no stone unturned as they prepare for their board exams and JEE Mains.
Jeetu Bhaiya (Jitendra Kumar) is shattered by the suicide of Vernali (Abhaya Sharma). He’s depressed and takes a break from his institute AIMERS but soon resumes work and also starts taking therapy from Dr Sudha Vyas (Sohaila Kapur). Yet, he finds it difficult to cope with everyday work and stress. His students are shocked when they see him lose his temper.
On the other hand, Vaibhav, Meena and Uday are struggling to improve their performance and are under tremendous pressure. Uday’s girlfriend Shivangi Ranawat (Ahsaas Channa) is also stressed out over her preparations for NEET. During this preparation, they face several challenges. One of their classmates dies by suicide, they are crumbling under pressure, Meena faces financial issues, Vaibhav deals with jealousy, and Uday ends up breaking his leg as he meets with an accident while drinking and driving his scooter on the roads of Kota.
The third season takes a closer look at the lives of the students and Jeetu Bhaiya as they deal with their problems. Is Jeetu Bhaiya finally able to manage his stress? Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this web-series, planned to watch this series on premiere day as loved previous two seasons and big fan of all TVF content.
The new Kota Factory season delves into the intense, final leg of the students’ journey through Kota’s rigorous coaching institutes, culminating in their attempts to secure ranks in the IIT JEE and NEET entrance exams. Under immense pressure, these youngsters face their most challenging test yet. Will they buckle under expectations and years of hard work, or will they rise to the occasion and triumph in the most important struggle of their lives?
Kota Factory is one show that does not promise to give you hope, but it promises to show you the reality. But in doing so, it has always managed to glamourize the struggle that pushes students to their breaking point. It shows how and why studies and relationships are extremely difficult to co-exist and co-manage. At various instances, a subtle reminder is given to not belittle any competitive examination, because each of them is challenging in their own way. There is jealousy and there are ego clashes but every student, in the process, become a better version of their selves and that’s what one loves to see. The ending of the third season is poetic and one couldn’t have asked for a better end. Pratish Mehta’s direction is uncomplicated and does justice to the setup and treatment by Raghav Subbu in the first two seasons. Also, it’s not easy to execute a series in black-and-white and the director comes out with flying colors.
The writing is top-notch and that further aids Pratish in giving his best. A few moments stand out like the friction between Vaibhav and Vartika, Meena facing financial pressure, Vaibhav’s monologue, Pooja Didi’s speech in the hospital, etc. One track, however, that stands out is Jeetu Bhaiya’s bout with depression. The man, who supports one and all, is now in need of a helping hand. This aspect makes the character more humane and relatable. The last episode is almost an hour long but has humor, nail-biting moments and also scenes that would make viewers teary-eyed. Performances from each and every one are top notch. On the flipside, episodes seem a bit stretched. Moreover, it’s not entirely convincing that Jeetu Bhaiya was so deeply affected by the death of Vernali. It’s understandable that he gets too involved in the lives of his students, but he was never that close to her either. Also, it’s a sad reality that suicides happen at an alarming rate in Kota and the way things unfold, it seems like Jeetu Bhaiya came across the first such instance in his life. The length also could have been curtailed.
Each scene captures the intensity of their environment, making the viewers feel the weight of the students’ ambitions and anxieties. This season’s meticulous attention to exam preparation’s pressures and intricate details makes it a gripping and emotionally resonant experience. Overall, series touches upon very important topics that need to be given deep thought to. It rests on powerful performances, a relatable plot, some memorable moments and a climax that would leave viewers teary-eyed. My view on this series Highly Recommended
