Team India scored 185/5 runs in their 20 overs after batting first. 42 runs off the last 2 overs. How crucial will that prove? Once Gaikwad got out in the 16th over, India appeared to be losing some momentum, but Rinku Singh and Dube had other plans. They played out a couple of overs without taking too many risks and went berserk in the final 2. Both played their part in India getting past 180. Put into bat, India lost two inside the powerplay, but the arrival of Samson saw the visitors gather pace in their scoring rate. He stitched a 71-run stand with Gaikwad for the third wicket and set the base for the likes of Dube and Rinku. Gaikwad’s notched up his 2nd T20I fifty but couldn’t put the finishing touches. Those two overs could prove very vital. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 58 runs of 43 balls and Sanju Samson scored 40 runs of 26 balls. For Ireland, Barry McCarthy picks 2 wickets for 36 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Ireland unable to chase the target and scored only 152/8 in their 20 overs and lost the game by 33 runs. India go 2-0 up! Clincial from the visitors. Good captaincy from Bumrah as well. India batted well to get to 185. Ruturaj, Samson and Rinku batted well. In reply, only Balbirnie made a notable contribution. But that was never going to be enough. Bumrah was so on top of his game that he bowled a maiden in the final over of the game. Arshdeep got some pasting at the start but did well to comeback. Krishna provided the early strikes and Bishnoi also added two to his tally. Ireland had a sniff when they picked up two wickets at the top. But Samson alongwith Ruturaj played really well. India have taken the series 2-0. They will be elated as Bumrah’s fitness seems to be supreme as well. Andrew Balbirnie scored 72 of 51 balls and Mark Adair scored 23 runs of 15 balls. For Team India, Prasidh Krishna, Ravi Bishnoi & Jasprit Bumrah picked 2 wickets each.
