Earlier All-rounder Krunal Pandya tested positive for the Covid-19 hence he and his 7 close contacts are isolated in the hotel. These players are Hardik Pandya, Manish Pandey, Prithvi Shaw, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Chahar and Yuzvendra Chahal. BCCI have also included net bowlers into the squad.

Team India scored 132/5 in their 20 overs. Sri Lanka will be very happy with their effort. Capitalizing on India’s predicament of having only five specialist batters, with the pitch aiding them as well. It’s a sticky two-paced wicket where the ball isn’t coming on at all with pretty long boundaries at the Premadasa, doubly-difficult to get hold of the big hits. And even the seamers resorted to bowling cutters which stuck on the wicket and caused batsmen grief. Dhawan tried to play the sheet-anchor role as he often does, but fell to the guile of Akila. The other batters found it hard and India have ended up with a sub-par total. But this isn’t an easy pitch to chase and India have 3 regular spinners with a part-timer in Rana to chip in as well. Should be a fascinating chase. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan scored 40 of 42 balls and debutant Devdutt Paddikal scored 29 of 23 balls. Sri Lanka chased down the target successfully by scoring 133/6 in 19.4 overs and won the game by 4 wickets and level the series 1-1 with final T20 to go. Strike while the iron is hot! Exactly what SL did today. They were abundantly disciplined more so on the field. They bowled with purpose and mixed their pace up delightfully. The wafer-thin batting line-up of the visitors in the fear of early exposure applied the coat of caution a little too much and it clearly didn’t help. The meandering post the powerplay never ended. The drudgery yielded 132 from 20 overs. The batters were due and they did deliver. The experience of Dhananjaya de Silva was so crucial as he anchored the chase the moment he came in. Hasaranga as well as Karunaratne played their little hands too. Dhananjaya de Silva scored 40* of 34 balls and Minod Bhanuka scored 36 of 31 balls.
